Default H9 Ultra Stick Elevator

Anybody have trouble with the H9 Ultra Stick (the 120 size) elevator? I'm about ready to install it and noticed that the center section seems just a little too wimpy. It looks like if I control it from one side that the other side may break loose.

Thanks
Ken

Default I'll gladly pay you Tuesday

For a Whimpy elevator today :stupid: Really, is the joiner hardwood, or is the joint faulty?

It's a 1/2" thick peice of balsa. It's a single peice with a center section about 3" long that narrows down to about 1/2" between the halves. I'm tempted to un-cover it and reinforce it with fiberglass.

Default Balsa You Say???

Been awhile since I've owned one, but balsa sounds bad
We need to hear from a higher power. Everyone check your joiners and report back around dinner time. I'll bring the pizza

If you plan on man-handling this bird with a big engine and heavy stick then, by-all-means, beef up the tail feathers. Triangle stock for the stabilizers, re-enforced fiberglass for the elevator connector, etc. Heck, it wouldn't be a bad idea to just strip the covering off of the tail section and fiberglass the whole area. I ended up with this after repairing it a few times.
