WARNING Hangar 9 crappy push rods

Just an FYI,
Many of you probably know this. I bought a H9 stick ARF and the wire pushrods stink. If you put a z bend in one it's only a wiggle or two a way from breaking. DO NOT USE THEM. IMO

Some of the tools bend the pushrods too much (e.g. there is no real circular radius to the bend) so it cuts or cracks the metal. These are the bends that are "only a wiggle or two away from breaking".
A "proper" bend will hold up well.
Check the Z bend.
Do you see the metal scrunched up as if forced? This is bad.
Do you see a bit of a "cut" or sharp angle? This is also bad.
Does the actual bend describe a soft somewhat circular angle? This is good.

A lot has to do with how the z-bend is created.

I've made plenty of Z bends over the 30 or so years I've been modeling, I think I have it down. Trust me the problem isn't with the bend it's the rod. I've made hunderds of z bends with good materials and never had one fail. Use the H9 rods at your own risk, I say there crap!

Could you be a bit more specific on the size of the rod and did you contact Horizon yet?

I've noticed over the years the metric rods coming with a lot of ARF's are a harder metal(more brittle) these rods a lot of times crack(stress) in a zbend. Had some break during the zbend process and most crack if pushed as far as the old 2/56 or 4/40 wire. The wire rods I use from the local HS is a lot softer and take the z bend vary well. I no longer use the metric Arf's rods in a zbend.

ON,
Whataver pushrods that came with my funtana 50 are also garbage, they flex way to much and seem very flimsy compared to the great planes hardware. They have not broken but i can feel them flex in flight on rudder especially, and the linkages are just a few inches long.

There are a lot of things about hanger 9 oroducts that you must watch out for like those crappy plastic rod adjusters. As you start to leave the shop with your brand new hanger 9 arf stop and get some new rods with metal ends and some five minute epoxy to fix all the parts that pop open on the first landing. They look good though. wo

The rods that come with the 40 size H9 Ultra Stick are 2-56 rods.
I just put a 90 degree bend in the rod at the servo end and use the H9 locking
clevis then slide a short piece of fuel tubing over the clevis to keep it locked.
Never had any problems.

the rods that came with my corsair a couple of years ago is ok. the ones with the miss america mustang are real soft and bend way too easy. i replaced them. i agree, don't use them.
