Default Magic Quality Problem?

Just began my Magic ARF, starting with the wings. Much to my surprise, I found that the precut holes for the servos where mismatched. One was 85 MM from the TE, the other was 105 MM from the TE. Based on the length of the control rods I’m assuming 85 MM is correct and I need to re-cut the other wing.

Does this sound correct to you guys who have built the Magic? Ask before you cut.

Both of my cutouts on the Magic are about 80 mm from the TE.

Okay, I'm thinking of building a servo deck out of ply. I'll do both wings to make them seem matched.

Thanks.

By the way, anybody know what this bird is covered with? I'll need to buy some more blue covering.

I just got mine this weekend and started working on it. Looks like a nice plane. The covering is unlike anything I have ever used. I was wondering the same thing. The quality of the kit so far looks pretty good. I did add some wood glue to the formers and firewall in the fuse. Can't wait to fly it.

Are your servo bays equal distances from the TE? If so, I'll trade ya. :-)

Just curious - are any of you guys converting your magic to a bolt on wing?

I did.
Two small dowels in the LE and two 1/4" nylon bolts in the TE. Works great!

Also added a steerable tail wheel. This is the best addition!
