I had an accident with my Avistar ARF (with monokote) and the white covering needs a little patch up. I was planning to use my roll of white monokote. However I noticed that the original covering on my Avistar is definitely thicker than the standard monokote. I would like to confirm if the covering on the avistar is monokote or econokote ? I was informed by a friend that econokote is thicker than monokote. Is this correct ?

I may be wrong but I do recall that monokote is used on the Avistar
The thinner one is called econokote and is appx $3.00 cheaper then the thicker rmonokote.
Use what you have.
Heck I use packing tape (the heavy duty tape)
Hope this helps.
Never did much with the more modern covering but I read a lot of material on it

Hi whirleybird, yes the standard monokote is good enough. The reason I posted this is because I wanted to confirm that there is "another" type of monokote which is thicker. I can tell you that the monokote on the avistar is real tough and was able to withstand many abuses. Perhaps Hobbico use a differrent version of monokote specially for their arf's.............
