Alan,
This is a plane that a friend crashed on its first takeoff and he gave it to me without the manual. Wing broke into two parts and fractured the fuse a little. Easy repair job, but he just didn't want the plane after he seen it fly. I think he had the balance way off. I haven't determined which engine I will put on it at this time. It will be a while before I rebuild it. Thanks for the CG info. James Goss

A GOOD RUE OF THUMB FOR CG ON MOST 40 TO 60 SIZE PLANES IS 3 TO 31/2 IN, THIS MIGHT LEAVE YOU A LITTLE NOSE HEAVY BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT IT WORK WELL FOR ME.

Hey Guys,
I've had this plane since the fall and have not been able to get it to fly. Snapped on first take off and broke wing. Replaced wing and tried to fly today, same results. After putting the pieces back together we figured out that the wings washout is not correct. Looking from the back the left side is lower than the right. Both wings were put together according to the instructions. There is not much room for error with the hardwood joiner. I feel that the center fiberglass section is not made right. We had cut down most of the elevator to keep it from snapping. What really happened is that the left side of the wing stalled and caused the plane to roll. The wing is junk again but the fuse is repairable, we will see what Tower's Hobby Services has to say on Monday.

Hi. I have this thing ready for a decent day which may come tomorrow. Now i was not their but what you described happening on takeoff I have seen countless times which is caused by not enough speed on the takeoff roll. Even by experienced pilots. Saw a guy last summer with the new TF Sea Fiury. maiden was great. Second flight about an hour later, he tried to take off to soon and it flipped.
