I turned my Balsa USA Smoothie -- old kit no longer made -- low wing sport plane into splinters last weekend. Looking for a replacement, and this is a strong candidate. Anyone have any experience with it who can offer comments? How does it perform w/ the EVO 46? My Smoothie had the OS 46 FX, and it would move with great vertical!
Thanks

Mine's my favorite everyday flier. Wasn't a PNP though, so I don't know about the little Evo. Been flying with an OS 46AX, but when my new carb gets here, it's going to get a 55AX. With the 46, it flies well enough to perform any aerobatic maneuver you can dream up. I dialed my high rates a little higher on the ailerons and she spins quick and straight. Landing takes forever with no wind. Set up long, and she'll float right in with the flat bottom airfoil and large dihedral. Set up short...go around. 5-10 mph head wind, and it'll drop in beautifully long or short approach. Stall is practically non-existent until ground effect kicks in. Loads of fun and a relaxing end of the day at the field.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm about to order the PnP. But even w/ the dihedral and flatbottom airfoil, does it handle all right inverted?

The wing is semi-symetrical, not flat bottom. My Pulse flies great inverted, in fact if is one of the easiest planes to fly inverted that I have. It also does tailslides nicely. I think it is just a great plane to fly.
I have the Evolution PTS .45 engine in mine and it has all the power I need.
The fuse seems very light, but I crashed mine in a flat spin and the damage was very minimal and I had it flying again in two days.
