I bought a 2nd hand Hangar 9 Corsair that needs repairs so I'm not shy to hack it up with custom mods. After looking it over I was wondering why the engine mounts are diagonally mounted. I can understand this for a 2 stroke. I like to mount my Saito inverted, any objections?
I am aslo planning to mount the muffler insider the cowl to exit behind the cowl flaps like scale. Which leaves me to the head venting, how have you guys done it?
Regards

The reason the engine mount holes are set diagonally is for the motor to be mounted inverted, but at a 45 degree angle with the cylinder head exhaust port pointing down towards the middle of the plane. This puts the muffler directly in the middle bottom. It also helps to keep the motor from getting flooded by not being at 180 degree inverted.
