dgfick,
Check this site out, I stumbled across it yesterday. Click on "Flying Videos" on the left...the first video is of the DP Edge. I'm sure there are more out there.

I just do a search for "video" in the various forum categories and come across some very interesting sites.

Did get the C/F wing tube. Really nice. The weight savings is not great because the D/P tubes are thin and lighter than most. The main plus is the strength and lack of the aluminum mess. Is it worth 50 bucks. Yeh, I think so but it is definitely not a neccessity. Now the C/F landing gear, for me, is necessary.

What's everyone's opinion on the Roto 35vi for this plane? Anyone have any pictures of the blue or white color schemes that is offered besides the yellow? Thanks! Kevin

The Roto 35 maybe enough for normal flying but I don't know what it will offer you as far as 3D ability goes. It weighs about 5 lbs so your plane will be over 15 lbs RTF. I'd check what kind of thrust you will get out of the 35 and go from there. In my opinion, this plane really just needs a glow motor. I had it with a DA 50 on it and it wasn't really a great combo due to the higher wing loading.
This is the blue and white scheme that is offered:

Thanks Don for the pic. You would think that DP would have those pics on their website. Otherwise, you're ordering blind. I've got a great scheme in mind so I might go with the all white and decorate on top of it.
The 35 puts out over 20 lbs of thust so with a 15 lb plane it should be more than adequate for the type of flying I do. Planes are meant for flying - heli's are meant for hovering J/k guys but I like to hold a hover for a few seconds and that's about it. Usually followed by somekind of flat spin at high altitude. Really boring compared to some I guess but it's what I enjoy. Originally intended the Roto 35 for the Pitts M12 and still might do it. Just trying to weigh my options.
With supersonic inverted muffler, igntion, and motor the 35vi comes in a little over 4 lbs.
It looks like a lot of people have liked the ZDZ 40 that weighs a little less than the 35vi but gives you a little power boost. Like I said, just looking for good climbing - not hovering power. 1.2:1 should do it.

If your gonna go with the all white scheme, be prepared to wait, I ordered mine directly from Dave at the I-Hobby Expo in Rosemont IL in October and am still waiting. Apparently DPM only builds the all white if they have an order for it, so you will usually end up waiting till the next container arrives. I have been told that mine will show up some time in February or early March. I guess patience is a virtue....

RE: Got my Dave Patrick Edge Today!!!
FYI, I maidened my Edge with a Moki 2.10 and tank on CG today. The CG is around 5.25 inches and is tail heavy. I have to move the battery forward. Anyone with a tank on the CG and running more than 5 inches, it will be TAIL HEAVY. I flip mine inverted and it just bairly flies level. It wants to climb just a hair.
I finally found a good CG for me. It's right at 5.0 inches. Perfect.
