Default GP Cap 580 .40

I have been looking at a lot of planes latley and i narrowing it down to one. I really like the Cap 580 .40 from GP. My cousine has it with a OS .65 LA he says it flies good but i have never seen it go. Im considering a super tigre .75 and the new buget hobbico digital servos with the optional dual elevator servo setup. Has any one here own one or seen one fly?

Hi there!
I haven't flown it yet but i've seen it at my field.
From what i guess you must come a bit fast so as not your Cap to drop a wing.
It has a tip stall and is not as gentle as the GPlanes Extra 330S 40 size ARF is.......yes i said gentle!
My Extra comes like a duck!

I have the Chap 580 with a Saito .82 in front. This plane is alot of fun to fly. Mine does not tip stall it just falls out of the sky. Definitely keep speed on approach.

Stick40,

Caps in the past have had a bad reputation to snap left or right if you used too much elevator. A friend at my field has a small GP Cap 580 with a YS63 4-stroke and it flies AWESOME without ant tendency to snap.. Personnaly I prefer the Extra 300. I just like the lines on the Extra over the Cap, but they are both excellent aeorbatic planes. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck with whichever one you choose.

Fly safe and have fun!!

I have the CAP 580... I have installed the Saito .82 VERY nice... I also looked up KEGG at
Virtual cockpit and installed one of his nicely done cockpits and I get a lot of attention at the
field with it... so much in fact that there have been 2 others that have bought this plane
because they like the looks of mine.... thats always.. cool....
It fly's GREAT... but I will say this to others that have said that it does not have bad
tendacies.. there WRONG>>>> Un less they are flying theres NOSE HEAVY...
which means it would not perform like it should.... so in retro spec...
if you balance your plane nose heavy then it will be less responsive to the Aerobatic
manuvers and YES.. it wont tip stall.. or be less likly to ..... thanks....
