Lanier Edge 540T - PROBLEM SOLVED

So far the "construction" of my E540T ARF has been a no-brainer but I encountered a weird situation with the aft fuselage bulkhead:
The hole in the rear most bulkhead the rudder pull-pull cables are supposed to go thru is too small in diameter. Because of this it displaced the rudder cables upward and slightly toward the centerline. They rubbed on the inside of the hole and each cable essentially did *not* have a straight shot at the rudder servo arm. Also, the upward displacement of the rudder cables interferred with the RH side (aft-mounted) elevator servo.
I ended up carefully punching out the bottom portion of the bulkhead to get the cables to route/work correctly and keep them from interferring with the RH elevator servo.
Has anybody else encountered this situation and what did you do about it? TIA
Mike

Same problem here - I managed to widen the hole through the servo openings with a Dremel, and used inner nyrod as a guide for the cable. It still bent the cable slightly so I never could tention the cables properly. You might be able to get a little bit of a straighter shot by crossing the rudder cables. Mine crashed before I got to try it. BTW, check and reinforce if necessary the nose/firewall! I (we) are pretty sure it went in b/c the firewall or something in the nose came loose (long story...) Good luck!

Yup, got the bulkhead squared away and, yes, I did end up crossing the rudder cables - worked great. And I did add another set of triangle stock behind the firewall.
Tackling the engine mounting now (altered the thread title too) ... it appears there will be some exhaust/muffler firewall clearance issues with my Saito 150/180. What approach did you guys take (if you mounted a Saito 4-stroker)?
Thanks for any clues - I think this plane is going to be fun. After building stuff for what seems like a bazillion years, it's great to take a break
