Uh huh uh huh now you've done it, one more thing i'm going to add to mine ........ I'm slowly taking the parts out a 'chunk' at a time and going over each one, so far as others have commented this is one 'ell of an ARF, plus NO WRINKLES to be seen.
Unreal......... a definite first for me. I'll be going over the pieces with an iron regardless, I consider it therapy. Good mindless therapy.........

I still have one brand new in the box, everything still sealed in plastic bags. I just never got around to putting this one together.

I have built about 5 mustangs and still have two corsairs from Topflite I have to build. My problem is I buy them faster than I can build them.

Is yours for sale?????

I skimmed the thread and for not see anything about converting the Robart TF B-25 retracts to electric operation using the Wingspan models electric actuators. I am more than ready to give up the air pump....

I am leaning with using the Wingspan actuators as the price and quality are pretty good and his customer service on other stuff I bought has been top notch. I also like that the Wingspan actuators do not require a separate controller.

have heard of a few issues with the Robart electric conversions in general on other models. Are the Robart conversions actually out and working in the B-25 retracts? Anyone with first hand experience on any electric conversion of the B-25 Robarts?

I have Robart gear converted by Down and Locked. They work great. You might find the Wingspan actuators will not have enough power to do the job.

Interesting....can you direct me to a report to that effect from a user that converted the same or similar Robarts with the Wingspan actuators?

Would prefer to do the conversion myself and not send the gear away to have it done. I know that Down and Locked has a good product and reputation.

I friend tried to use them on some ESM gear, they won't "pull" hard enough. Robart gear are heavier then ESM. I also tried E-Door actuators and they don't have any torque at all.

Thanks for the first hand info. If you don't mind me asking, what did Down and Locked charge for the Robart B-25 retract conversion?

it looks like the Robart conversions have not made it out to consumers yet....anyone have any first hand experience with the Robart B-25 retracts yet?

It was 3 years ago, I think it was 450.00 with the control box. But don't quote me.

Over the last couple of days I spoke with the gentleman at Down and Locked and with Robart. Turns out that D&L now supplies Robart with their product for the Robart conversions.

So, D&L and Robart sell the same conversion package for about $270.

I would still like to hear from someone that has done the Robart conversion recently.

Anyone?

I bought the Robart conversion for the Top Flite 1/5 Scale P-51 and 1/5th Corsair . For the P-51 it took maybe 30 min. The Corsair was the easiest. Both work great. Just make sure you don't hook the gear directly to the battery. Always use the supplied controller to move the gear.

Am aware of the fact that you MUST use the controller.

Robart had a sale going with 10% off electric retracts and conversions so I bit the bullet and ordered the conversion set for the B-25 retracts. During the conversion, I am also going to redo the gear doors as others have done to have the proper cycling sequence using servos, one for each door, using the servo sequencer built into my DX18 TX.

Default Finally finished and Flown...

Finished the B25 engine refit and bomb bay conversion. Fly's great although the extra weight is noticeable on the speed of the model, landings especially!! good job I fitted brakes. I do think heavy models fly nicely, very stable, just need the power.
Originally this B25 was fitted with OS81 pump engines. They had a nice amount of power but the vibration was to much in my opinion. After balancing the props to near perfection and stiffening the structure I decided to fit the Saito 120 R3 radial engines to have done with the problem. Good news is that there is little to no vibration now. If I was to build another top-flite kit I would go for the uncovered versions and glass cloth the model. This Monocote stuff just cant take the heat in Dubai, a few minuets in the sun and the model looks like it has been rapped in a plastic bag. Shame they dont make this kit anymore.

Okay, I bought the Top Flite B-25 over 5 years ago. I've just pulled it out and started assembly. My first question(figure I'll have more,,,ha) is "Does both sides of the nacelle fit tight against the wing?" The alignment pegs are 3/4 of an inch out, per instructions, but one side isn't fitting snug against the wing.

Yes, both sides of the nacelle fit against the wing. -- at least it does on mine. Maybe you have it on the wrong wing, of maybe there was a production change between yours and mine. Anyway, good luck.

Thank you for you response, CCFlyer. That's what I thought, but didn't want to mess up.

I had the same issue and simply deepened the hole in the wing about an eighth of an inch.

Hi Guys,

I built this plane some years ago using 2 x OS 46 AX with a twinsync. She was flying very well. But for many reasons, I did not fly it since 3 years and one of my engine is blocked.

As I won 2 AXi 4130/20 and I've just notice that aircraft-world was doing good sales on ESC, I bought 2 hyperion 90A 12 S to convert it to electric.

But I don't like to have 2 separate batteries to power the engines.

What are your experience using this configuration ? Any issue ? Like one battery failing during flight

I wonder if someone tried to install the ESCs and one 6S 8000 in the central fuselage using long wires between the engines and the ESC ?

Thanks

Hello - My left side interior wood structure in the engine nacelle (which houses the retract/fuel tank/engine mount/servo) broke on a hard landing (again...). I have repaired it a couple times with epoxy, but I am not sure it can be repaired yet another time. Does anyone have experience fixing this structure, have an extra one that they are willing to sell or know where I can get one as Tower says they are backordered, but I fear they are soon going to say that they are in reality discontinued. Thanks.

Please give me a bit of time my friend. I will get home eventually. I can't help you until then. I'm a MD and cannot just go home to look for an airplane part. Stay with PMs please.

Does anyone have an unused engine cowl, fake radial engine insert (black), and decal sheet for the Top Flite B25? Happy to pay a fair price for any or all pieces. I just picked up a B25 from a club member that started it but didn't finish it. He lost those parts. As far as I can see they are not available from Top Flite or Tower Hobbies. Post here how to contact you or call me at 920-921-5419
Thanks,
Roy
