Default Super Super Stick 60 ARF

Just wanted to post pictures of my Dad’s H 9 Super Stick 60, the older style ARF. The Stick has the new Zenoah G20 ei gas motor. The only changes to the airframe were to add triangle stock to the rudder and stabilizer. The landing gear was made by Crashis Clay’s Custom Landing Gear from ABELLRC.com. Total weight is 8 lbs and has enough power to hover. My dad has been flying models since he was a kid and will be turning 83 years old this month and flies 4 times a week. He wanted an everyday gas plane that would handle wind and easy to setup. We came up with this combination and it has proved to be a great setup.

The G20 ei ran great out of the box and we have about 20 flights. The engine starts very easy. The ignition battery is a 1700 NiCAD and we have had no problem getting 4 flights in on a charge. The Radio is the Spektrum 2.4 GHZ and has not given us any problems. We are using the Opto-Remote Gas Engine Kill from 42-Percent-Productsto to isolate the ignition from the receiver.

If you like this setup PLEASE votes at www.zenoah.rcuniverse.com in the Horizon Hobby and RCU G20ei contest.
Look for the Super Super Stick. Thanks

Looks like fun and a nice match-up.

But as for the contest, they say "just build a plane . . . ". That says to me ARF's and engine swap-outs on existing planes don't qualify.

Most of the entries are ARF's. People are calling ARF's kits these days and saying they built it. The stick was a new build (still can get them) and has only had the G20 powering it. Horizon does not offer any kits, so I would think that their whole product line could be entered. But you make a good point.
