Hi.
I have a Saito 91 that needs a plane. I would like a good ARF aerobatic plane in wich this engine could give it unlimited or almost unlimited vertical. I would like it also to be scale, like an extra, cap, suckoi or something else.
Give me your oppinions, please.

2 great choices for a great engine:
1. Edge 540 90 ARF(63") from Seagull. Priced at $175, is a great value and is beautifully finished and covered in ultrakote.

2. The Modeltech P 47 thunderbolt ARF (67"). Also an awesome value at $199 and comes with retracts installed and very scale like!

You can also go with the WM Chipmunk. Its a exc. flying areobatic with no bad habits.I have been flying mine for about a year & half now-I love it altho mine has a OS91 pumped 4stroke,your saito would go very nice too
I have a nice 60 size Kangke sport Cap232 that i'll be selling on here in the next week or so,waiting on a new cowl -just add engine & rcvr and fly.Great flying plane -I had a blast with it.I am going all giant scale now & jets
regards-Steve

I will have to second the Kangke line of 60 sized aerobatic planes. Check em out at http://www.kangkeusa.com You didn't give you location, so I can only guess at what kind of vertical performance you will get with the Saito 91, but at or near sea level, you should get pretty good vertical out of these planes, and Kangke makes really good ARFs

Hi.
Thanks for all the sugestions. And what about some extra, cap, some biplane?
I would like a good looking acrobatic plane. Anyone knows the Hobbico extra 300?

I have heard all good things about the Hobbico Extra. Do a search on here, it will take some careful looking, but I've found a few reviews on here in the ARF forum. I have one and am 99.9% done (have to attach canopy). I can tell you right now the hardware is ****. They talk about "high G" manuevers, but they include plastic flexible pushrods, and the screws and clevis's are smaller than 2-56. I ended up soldering on a threaded coupler for the elevator and putting on a better clevis. If I could do it again I would definetly use metal pushrods (split elevator though, you would have to come up with a system for that). Everything else was easy, nice looking plane, covering was alright, a few wrinkles but I poked some holes in it and ironed it down and it was alright. Everything is pretty straight forward, but if you do get it, I have a great way to easily connect the two halves of the wheel pants and cowl. Take a strip of masking tape and put half of it around the inside of the pants/cowling, leaving the other 1/2 sticking out. Then just put the matching half on top, and the masking tape holds it while the glue sets. Made it very easy. I will fly it tomorrow.
By the way I've read on here that it's the best plane a few people have owned. Good luck

K I flew mine today. I have a 91 Magnum 4-stroke in it. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW. I pointed it into the wind and slowly fed in throttle. It jumped off the ground a 1/4 throttle! However, I will tell you right now that it was extremly tail heavy. I was very surprised because I have that big engine up front, but it is tail heavy non the less. If you get this, buy nose weight with it. I think that I used up all my luck for this year flying that today and getting it back in one piece. DO NOT FLY IT TAIL HEAVY. Scariest thing. A club member saw the trouble I was having practicing approaches and offered his help. I handed him the controller, and in 5 seconds he almost crashed it, so I yanked it back. It won't slow down, so the only way I got it down was when the engine quit. But from what I could tell, the ailerons are extremly sensitve, and will be very aerobatic. Same with the elevators. The rudder however needed significant movement to take the crosswind (about 10 MPH I think). I flew around at a few clicks above idle. Not even joking. I think it's a great plane, and once I add some nose weight I am very excited to get it up again. Will have to re-prop it though so I can slow it down. I'd recommend it, and it's fairly priced. Good luck and if you need anything else feel free to ask.

that a Lanier Stinger 60 ARF will do some really cool Hovering
and is all around a really good airplane. there is also the Ucan do3D!
