What type of hitec servos should be used for the cap 232 .40 size from hanger 9? I have Hs- 300 servos, but i am skeptible. Just want to know what other people are using and if yopur not using hitec what would be the equivalant. Thanks for any reples.

I don't have that plane....but I do have experience with those servos, and I wouldn't use them in anything beyond a trainer.....I've had 2 of them fail in the elevator of my World Models Super Sports 40, which is far from a Cap......luckily I was able to bring the plane down safely. I will never use HS300's for anything but the throttle again. For most of my 40-size sport planes, I use HS425's.

Hitec 425s or JR 537s are enough. Hitec 605s provide more torque...for more $$ naturally.

Thanks for your replies guy's. I think i'm going to go with the 425s for all servos. Guess it gives me a reason to go to the LHS.

Default Servos for H9 Cap

I have used standard servos-Hitec HS300's for the ailerons on my H9 cap without any problems. I wouldn't use them on the elevator or rudder. I used a Hitec 425 on the rudder and a 605 on the elevator.

Hi guys,

Please advixe me as to whether its a good idea to use the Hitec standard servos---HS422 in my Midwest Lil Cap 232 im building. its a .90 powered aerobat that is about the same size as a .60 trainer.

Thanks,

Paul

Default Servos for midwest cap

Depending on your level of aerobatics, standard servos are fine for ailerons on that size of aircraft if each aileron has it's own servo. I would use ball bearing or higher torque servos on the rudder and elevator.

Hey there,

Thanks for the advice; luckily it does have two airleron servos, and i will keep bb servos in mind for the others.

Paul, I would opt for a bit more torque. The new hitec HS-475 HB looks like a bargain at $18 or even the 605 at under $30.
