Looks like a CMP kit. It should be fine, but check the glue joints and start with the CG far foward until you get comfortable with the plane. Their models tend to have a little higher wing loading than others, but fly fine.

I built this, sold it and am looking for another one now. It is a fairly good looking ARF with flat paint over film, and flat decals as well. The manual is poor at best, it has fixed gear, but can be fitted with air or mechanical retracts with some work even though it is supposed to be ready for them. The wheel wells are too small for my liking, so I enlarge them for more scale size tires. The cockpit is totally void of any detail, but a 1/7 th scale WWII pilot looks good in it. The canopy was OK and the glass parts are very good. The fuselage is glass and done nicely. I replaced the hinges with pinned ones, and replaced most of the linkage hardware (but I usually do this on ARFs anyway because of personal preference. It is a good place to start for the price, but expect to spend some additional money and extra time making it better. It is worth it. Yes, it is Willhobby. Same as CMP as far as I can tell.

It's a Will Hobby. I have one that turned out fairly well, it lacks in some areas. I made a servo tray and moved the rear control servos back to the trailing edge of the wing, it shortened the rods considerably and helped move the balance to where I wanted it. The servo tray was glassed in with resin and glass, not epoxy. I also glassed the inside of the firewall with resin and chopped glass as mine was really flakey in that area. I used mechanical retracts, a real bear to get right. I shot mine with clear satin Rustolum (sp?), caution is needed to spray lightly and wait after the preceeding coat is dry or the bottom color will react and bubble up.
I have an OS 120 AX on mine and it's really cool on a high-speed pass with the gear up. Mine is in American Markings like many that were used in Italy by the USAAF.
Crummy Directions but worth the price if you go a little extra in effort.

Bob, it was Robart #608HD. The wheel well needed to be larger (personal preference. I don't like these tiny tires Willhobby sends with their war birds. They look stupid IMO) so I didn't use the supplied plastic liner, and some work was done to the hard points. Linkage and the angle of the strut so it is straight when down is tricky. I would recommend doing each wing separately before you join them together. then it will be easier to see how the linkage has to run and it will be no problem to cut the channel for it from the root of the wing. Don't have any pictures cause the plane was dealt in a trade deal. I'll have another one and it will be much easier to build. It is a good stand-off scale Spit to just be an everyday flyer for fun. I'll do all the fancy stuff on my Pica Spit.

Thank you for your response. It is just the kind of information that I need. Mine is still in the box, but I will get the retracts ordered this week. Not joing the wings untill the retracts are installed is a great idea. It would not have occurred to me to do it that way. What size wheels did you use? Thanks again for all your help!

Also when doing so did you find it necessary to open up the wing to add some wood to help support the hinge?
I'm most interested as I have the Will Hobby fw190 still in the box and also don't like the CA hinges.
