anyone has problems with this company?
since i cant those great planes pw extra,s in the netherlands (holland)
i ordered them at chiefaircraft
until now it has been nothing else then frustration
in they cant complete my order ,since of some bs about creditcard details
i ordered them on the 16th still no confirmation at all
they keep me on hold for a long time
called them over 6 times now still leaving me in the dark or cant find my details , or person is out or sick or what ever
soon the phone calls to them will be above what the extra will cost!
send more then 15 emails to them with absolutely no responce
i will await today
then i will search for another company in the states who can help me
do you guys have a idea where to order? and if they ship international outside u.s
the extra is nice and i am happy to see all you guys have one
but for me it is allready frustrating and i dont even own one yet!

Every time I have ordered from Chief (and that numbers 2 times) the transaction was good overall (meaning they got the plane to me at the price stated). However, whenever I called to inquire if the shipped it, what's the tracking number, etc... I always hung up the phone in frustration. They were very slow to respond to my inquiries and could only give me details if I pressed them.

That's been my experience (after ordering a G-Trick and GP PW Extra).

I do the bulk of my on-line shopping from Chief. Never had any prob's with them, and alway's use my c.c. There must be more to your story then typed, so fill us in or shop at tower.

tower does not ship them extra,s international i tryed allready
they state the package is oversized while chief has no problem with that exept i dont get anything...
any more suggestions?

I have not purchased anything from them at this point, I have looked and compared prices on thier website quite a bit.
Its only a matter of time before I end up buying something there though. I do know people at my field that have purchased ARFS there and didnt speak of any problems at all.

I do know that sometimes credit cards can cause problems, I have not had any problems in particular but I know that issues come up with addresses, names and such.

Im am not aware of another company that will ship to you other than Tower.

I've ordered from Chief before and every time the plane arrived within the week. I can't complain about the service.

Is your mailing address different than your billing address? Sometimes this can be a problem with credit card companies. Perhaps it's an issue of currency conversion from Euros to dollars.

I know it's hard to find a place in the US that will ship a big plane like the Extra to an international destination. Most times they end up eating the shipping cost and that's why they don't do it. There may be a distributor in England or Germany that would have the Extra. I don't know but it's worth a shot.

I ended up cancelling an order with them because of they couldnt get the shipping address correct which was in the states.However because I live on the other side of the river( in Canada) they got very very confused to say the least.They even called me to confirm my order once only to tell me about a bunch of fraud cases going on.After waiting for weeks after they say they shipped it they finally admitted not sending it...Then they wanted another 100 bucks to ship to Canada..Can you believe IT ?? They still wanted to ship it somewhere else other than to where I repeately told them to ship it in the states...Thats when I cancelled my order...SteveD

I have ordered planes and parts with no problems. They have always answered my e-mails with in a couple of days.

Chief does not like to ship outside the US. Said they wouldn't ship a DA engine to Canada. Iv'e never had a problem with shipping from any other retailer in the US in 25 years of buying hobby related items. Size of box can limit postal service and brokerage fees are bad with ups and other private services.

I have several complaints with them. The only thing they have going for them is that they always carry what I want. However, I have placed 3 large orders and all three had problems. Their lack of concern was appalling and I will use them now only as a last resort.

Default My order is due to arrive...

Today in fact via FedEx Ground.

They only charged me $2 for shipping to boot.

I will have to see if the order is right, but so far I am pleased.

They even emailed me at every step of the order process to let me know what was going on.

I placed my order on Mon at 9:00 AM and it was out the door 4 hours later.

This is great Finally someone having a problem with chief aircraft,i had the very same problem.I placed a order with them,they couldnt get credit card confirmation they never phoned me or e mail me to tell me that.THEY NEVER ANSWERS YOUR E MAIL.and constantly i was calling them Absoulty no one has any information on my order they never give you a tracking number so you cant track your orderThey finally shipped my order after 6 weeks of placing it.BIG UPSSSS TO TOWER NEVER A PROBLEM,CONTNUE WITH THE PROFESSIONAL AND ORGANIZE SYSTEM TOWER,I LOVE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a 4" Tru-turn spinner from Chief and had them send it economy second day. I didn't know what to expect. A week went by when my neighbor informed me that he found a package for me on his front porch. It had arrived in two days and only cost me $9.00 shipping but Fed-Ex delivered it to the wrong address! Almost had me mad at Chief for a day or two. Now I'm just mad at Fed-Ex for not even confirming the address that they left a $100.00 parcel at! No problem with Chief yet. I'm considering ordering a DP Ultimate/YS 1.40 combo from them also! Good luck with getting a GP Extra!

well well look at this they finaly shipped it
i think you guys helped a lot i just called them to confirm
they allready sayed: is this about the wagstaff?
lol i guess they read also these forums....
but it will be the last time i ordered there
its to much hassle to order there

as you can see the shipping cost are more then it actualy costs
thats why i ordered 2 of them
in europe they are around 650 euro
wich is about 700 usd
so all in all i got the same price
however maybe i am one of the first since you cant buy it anywhere overhere

Default One gripe,

I got my order and all was included and shipped. My only beef was that they charged me a $2 email fee. What is this crap, I never saw a policy that stated that said they will email the status of my order for a fee. I simply asked them to provide a tracking number when it shipped. I was pleased to get all the correspondence I got telling me what was going on, but then read the invoice and saw what I though was a nice low $2 shipping fee to be a email fee.

Interesting. I guess I won't complain because there was not a shipping charge, but next time I will not ask for a tracking number on the invoice and call after the card is charged for it instead.

I have probably placed over 30 orders with Chief Aircraft. Larry has always been helpful on the phone and has provided me with some of the best service I have had in the hobby over the past 25 years. They almost all ways have what I need in stock. They have good pricing and have always shipped same day.

I've placed many orders with Chief and have had no problems. I always get a tracking number and the product arrives when I expected or sooner. Larry has also been quite helpful.

The last order I placed with chief was my Edge which I specified on the web order to cancel if they where out of stock. Larry responded with the below. I received the tracking email on 4/2 and the plane arrived on 4/9. Shipping costs where included in the cost of the kit which also matched Dave Patrick's delivered cost. So FWIW.
