Default CMP Cessna 182 83" assembly :)

Hello everyone I got a CMP Cessna 182 a little while back that I'm in the early stages of putting together, I've gotten the hinges installed and the wing joiners installed. I'm going to see what I can get done this morning before work. I'm really excited about getting this plane finished and ready to fly. I want to add some super super bright lights to it so if anyone has any ideas on what to put in there that would be great. I'm putting a Saito 125 in it, it may be a bit more power than I need but I intend to fly it in some areas where there can be some shifty wind currents and the added security of a bigger engine can't be a bad thing, I also would like the power there in case I want to put it on floats. I'll try to keep everyone posted on my progress as best I can.

Sorry for the lack of updates and pics, hopefully I'll get some up later today of my progress so far. The servo horns have been installed and I'll be looking to get some fine drill bits so I can make some pilot holes for the screws, hopefully my LHS will be open when I get out of work...I work midnight to eight doing security. I'll be doing some work on the wingtips after work too. Does anyone have any thoughts on some super super bright lights I can use. I've heard that the electro dynamics set is quite impressive, but I want something that actually can be seen on a sunny day. One of the flying clubs I belong to is at a real airport and I would like to at least have a small hope of my plane being seen by a full scale plane. Any assembly tips and advice will be appreciated a lot. SEND PICS and experiences too! [&:

You won't find any nav lights that are visible during the day. At best you may find a scale strobe that can be seen. Two different types of light and nav lights are not to be seen during bright light only low or no light times. As far as the 120 on.....Way over kill. You will have a serious problem trying to balance the plane and the weight you add to balance will increase the wing loading to a point that the plane will not fly as it is intended and from the sounds of it you are not an experianced pilot your chances of a sucessful flight are slim.

I have the very same plane and it is impressive. The weight and wingloading are scale and comfortable but if you hang that much weight on the plane you will ruin it. You don't know what your talking about. I fly in winds up to 20mph with power plants suited to the plane.

You guys that think you have to put 100hp up front do not under stand the concept of power to weight ratio. If you put this 120 on it you will have to add enough balance weight that you negate the benifit ofthe increase in power. If you want a larger 4 stroke then put a Saito .82 on it. Not much heavier than the average .46 2 stroke that the plane is designed for.

If this is the 83" w.s. Cessna, the 125 shouldn't be too much at all. I'm considering a 26cc gasser on mine.

WOW....My Bad..... I usually am on top of things and didn't realize that I was in the 83" version of this plane. My comentary of engine size was directed at the 50 size which I do own. Yes a 120 on the 83" would be good and I think a perfect match is the Evolution 26GX. This engine is in at just over 2lbs and will fit inside the cowl with very little, if any, modification. I would be a little worried at the weight penality of the Zenoah G26 and the fact that it would not fit in the beautiful cowl without hangine a bunch of stuff out in the breeze.

I tried to get the 83" from Nitro when they went on sale but they sold out before I could get one, seriously bumbed out

Sorry to shoot off about something I was not totally in tune with.

After the sale priced 83" Cessna vanished from the Nitro Models site, I found it for the
same price on the Raidentech site, purchased it and was delivered next day.
It's still listed at Raidentech.
