I just got a p-51 and have heard that the gear struts are weak, would changing the wire to 3/16" and lighter wheels help?
Which engine would be good for some aerobatics,-O.S.91, or would a Satio 120 make the plane to heavy?

try searching this forum for "h9 p51" - this gives you 5 pages of threads mainly about this plane. so you can learn all or maybe more than you want to know about this plane. its a good flying sport p51 arf but does have some things to fix.
i would think that if you want even more you could search the warbird forum too.
have fun!

Ya, the "Yank" (and for those who live 'north' of us <g>) will get a lot of reading....but really you can just try it 'stock' and might find it works just fine as-is.
If flying off that hard stuff UP in the northern climates (compared to 'us' in Alabama :-) ) stiffer struts might be wise.....but off the green stuff, the stock sturts worked just fine.

Thanx Tailskid,I might try it with an OS91 and just change the gear wire to 3/16ths". I'm relocated down in Tn. making those Great cars "Saturn".

RCAVI8TER just sold his P51 with a YS 91 in it. Bat out of heck with that configuration. Only modifications made were removing the yellow covering from the tail surfaces and making the plane all silver.
