Hi all,
I need a little help before I finish up my VQ P-51. So far, things have gone pretty well, but a couple of issues are holding me up.
1. I've heard this plane comes out nose heavy, and since I have a 4-stroke, I started putting the battery in the back battery compartment. There's a nice battery compartment behind the first bulk bulkhead, but I needed to cut through some balsa sheeting to access it. I've cut through the sheeting, and the battery fits in there fine, but now I don't know how to cover the opening such that it's secure but accessible in case I need to get at the battery. I can't just reglue the balsa sheeting I cut off back in place. What's the way to go here?
2. All the other ARFs I've put together had a spearate tube just for the purpose of putting the antennae wire through. This ARF doesn't have a dedicated tube for the antennae, what's the best way to go with this?
Thanks for any and all help. I'm looking forward to getting this plane in the air.

I'm confused with your questions: If it is going to be nose heavy already, why are you placing the battery behind the first bulkhead? That will only make it more nose heavy!!
As for your second question: Just use a tube of your own, route it back through the fuse and secure the front end to a bulkhead in the radio compartment. No biggie

I had the VQ Shangri Li, it was a great plane...
Ditto on the answers, no need for the tube, that just helps to prevent the antanae touching any meatl and tidy's things up...Regardimng the batt, simply blace it where you must to make the CG come out correctly, avoid adding any more weight than you must in this plane, stalls can be abrupt, start out with low rates and use expo if you must.
becareful trimming the wing ribs when installing the retract pushrods, they can weaken if you trim too much.
lastly, don't overtighten the screws for the supplied spinner, mine was evidently overtightened and the spinned exploded on me when I was running the engine on a table, a flying piece gave me a bloodly nose.
