Has anyone tried out the dynam super cub? It's close in size and price to the hobbyzone super cub, but comes with a brushless motor and 4 channel radio. I did a search both on the forums here and on google, with very little luck. It seems a lot of people are using dynam ESC's but not many have their planes. I love the looks of super cubs and the price is great, but the lack of reviews makes me a little hesitant to buy one. I just received the Dynam Super Cub that I purchased from Seller (11bkm) on eBay. Everything arrived as advertised. It looks very similar to the HobbyZone Super Cub but is slightly smaller and has ailerons. The included flight simulator is very basic and the written instructions were poorly translated into English. I probably won't get the chance to complete assembly and test fly it until next week, but will try to report on my success/failure afterward.

Don't bother with anything from Dynam.

Why?

Because the quality stinks, everything about the plane will break on you.

And good luck finding the parts, the company is based out of china, and hardly anyone carries the parts, not like their of good quality anyway. The little plastic pieces that break you will never find.

They should inlcude a huge bottle of CA for you to glue everything back together after one crash. Land too hard and you will break the stock landing gear. Tug on the control arms too much, glue time! The stock props snap like twigs. The battery box is made out of wood and the door will break on you in no time, so get out some velcro or tape.

Don't listen to the suppliers, they will tell you they never had any problems.

Don't waste your money on this plane, I did, and I am still picking CA glue off my fingers trying to repair this thing.

HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!

I bought the Super Cub last week, because the words LiPo battery, brushless motor and ailerons sounded great to me. First shock came after unpacking the thing, second shock while assembling and last but not least when i went out and flew this piece. Finally when contacting the supplier for a replacement motor mount, came the end.

a. although mentioned on the packaging list, there is no wall plug charger included. Only the LiPo Balancer
b. The plastic parts are poor glued in. Most shear and needed fixing. Horrible.
c. The motor mount screws were drilled in too much and did no longer hold back the motor. I had to glued the plastic piece.
d. The tail wheel is plastic and mounted directly on the rudder. Hard landings can damage the rudder because of stress.
e. In the air the aircraft is quiet unstable. You have to be correcting all the time
f. After a while flying, i can say, that the elevator and rudder control is not precise enough.
g. Ailerons got damaged in flight while doing a right turn. Had to do an emergency landing. I discovered that the plastic part glued in the wing for attaching the aileron push rod, broke ??? In flight, crap.
h. I contacted the supplier to get replacement, the motor mount will arrive in December !!!

Good that the supplied LiPo battery is the same size as the one from my Wilga, and so i have something to use from the invested money.

I guess we all have different opinions. No 2 people are a like. I love my Dynam Super Cup. I love how it looks in the air. It is well built, looks very nice and with a few improvements, as I do with all planes I get, it is a great flying plane. Like I said I take every plane I get and look for weel points and improve the plane before I ever put it in the are. I think about all of this equipment is made in china and they just don't care about the fine details like I do. Mine came with a wall charger for the balance charger.
Some one said "e. In the air the aircraft is quiet unstable. You have to be correcting all the time" That sounds like the COG could be off. Did you work with that. Most planes need the COG modified to make them fly with out flying like a rollercoaster.
So that is my opinion od the Dynam Super Cub. Would I buy another? YOUBET!!!! Also there is a download for the simulator I use so you can download the Super Cub to practice it on the FMS.

Hello, I have this plane but never managed to fly it well enough.

My friends and I have 15 take-offs on this bird but no landings! We're always crashing.

So, when I'm flying it, it feels too unstable/touchy. My best flight was like this: I did lots of involuntary 3d stuff (rolls and loops) but when I brought it in for landing, all of a sudden it dived and crashed. I mainly fly helicopters, this is my first plane.

Trying to find the reason, I have a few questions:
- Should I be using expo? if yes, how much would you recommend for a beginner wanting to only take-off, do a few circles and land?
- should the CG be -as the manual says- 58-62mm off the leading edge of the wings?
- how much travel should the control surfaces have? I think mine travel too much, which makes the plane touchy.


I'd apreciate some opinions from people who have the plane...
