Anyone know anything about this new airplane from Cermark. 70" span and around 9 lbs. sounds good. Anyone have one of these yet and how is the overall quality and flying ?

Gungadin,
I was looking at the Cermark and Wild Hare Extra 260 and choose the Wild Hare just because I have had a Wild Hare plane before and knew of the quality. I did some research on this plane and it seemed to be pretty good on the fit an finish and flying. I also was looking at a 26cc gasser vs the OS 120AX for the business end. I choose the OS.

Yes I saw the demo. I guess it had the SPE engine. I'm with Zippi and would be more inclined towards the 120AX. Wonder if it got damaged with the "landing" on the demo ?

You can hear a crack on the ah..."landing" and the same video is on You tube as a Cermark Extra 260 Crash...
I think I would have shot another video for marketing if I was Cermark...they still might want to.

I watched the video of the Extra 260. Looks to me like the landing was intended to be that way with a slow roll to the mains. Most people who think that they may be in trouble during a landing would have powered up and went around but this guy didn't. The sound I heard during the landing just seemed like your normal landing gear hitting the dirt. Granted this was not a very graceful landing but an attempt at something different for the camera. I really didn't hear a crack. This is just my observation of the video.

. Actually there are some guys at our field that fly worse than that
. I dout that Cermark put that video out there with that title. If it lands on two wheels and is in one piece and can fly again then it's not a crash in my book. If you carry pieces back to the pits and it's not flyable and have to make repairs at home then it's a crash.

It was a crash. From our notes, the pilot damaged hit landing gear area. We simply put it on, because people wanted videos of the SPE with the Extra 260. That was the only footage we can find with reasonable apprearance of the airplane.
We have the Extra 260 in electric also, but with the MLD-28 project, we have not flown much. We'll try to get some footage on. The Extra-260 is a nice airplane to fly. We all crash, but can you surve with only minimal amount of damage like that pilot had!!! Ah, we can edit, but I found this video to be heart warming:-) Of course, I can be totally wrong, seeing that the clip is not well received:-) Then, we'll edit some clips of before crashing:-)
Peace,
Steven Chao,
Cermark,

Hey guys... I am currently putting this plane together (the yellow one). Seems to be a pretty nice bird. I am to the point that I am looking to mount the gas tank and I'm not sure if I need to biuld up a pedistal to put it on. The tank, if mounted on the floor of the fuse will be like 2 inches below the motor?? I know the gas motors have a pump to draw fuel, but do I need to elevate the tank at all?? Also I see no real place to mount the throttle servo?? Any of you pros that have built this plane have a pic of your setup inside? Or can you tell me about the tank and throttle servo positions??
Thanks for any help out there!!!
Mark
