Nitro Planes/CMP Katana 1.40 V2
Does anyone have any experience with this particular model? The price is quite low and I have all the guts and innards just sitting around for a plane like this and am looking for a good knockaround Sunday flyer. Anyone have an opinion good or bad?
Thanks in advacne,
T.

G'Day Mate,
Very Good, I have the previous version, with an OS 160FX, & 17x10 prop, this plane will do knife edge circuits with NO coupling, once you adjust the balance point to the sweet spot, it is one great flying aircraft.
You will love it.

Yeah great flying plane.
I DO recommend that you coat the covering with Top Flight Clear Coat spray... One can will do.
Build the plane and leave off any transparent pieces...
Then buff the covering with a plastic dish cleaner.
Apply light layers of TF clear coat every 30 seconds... 2 will do, but I often apply 4-5. Get all of the seams and edges!
Let dry at LEAST 24 hours, then buff again with the dish cleaning pad.
You can use either the shiny or the matt clear coat spray depending upon how you want the finish to appear.
Both look good.
The shiny spray must be buffed to achieve shinyness again.
This will prevent the trim and covering from peeling off.
On the CMP planes I've done this to, I've had NO pealing or problems with the covering.
I gave a fully built CMP plane ( with the same covering ) to a friend.
I told him to apply the Top Flight.
He never did in spite of my frequent insistence... and you guessed it, his covering is cracking particularly around the joint edges...
