Default WM T34 build question

Why would the WM use a wood screw to hold in the stab? Should I skip the screw and epoxy in the stab?

Unless they changed something, the stab is supposed to be epoxied in place. Sometimes their instructions aren't exactly the most clear.

I have seen that on another kit of theirs, and yes it is better to epoxy it in place.

I think you are mistaken the tail is screwed on with a machine screw into a blind nut.

I would at least add thread lock if nothing else but always glue mine in place with epoxy and use the screws too.

I think these WM planes in this class are some of the best values out there!

step 8 in my version of the instructions uses a 3x25mm pan head wood screw....I think I am going to epoxy it for peace of mind.

I don't remember seeing that in the instructions but it sure does say it in yours. I'd definitely epoxy it.
