Default Which Edge 540??

I'm looking to get a Edge 540 something with at least a 60" wing span. Im not looking to spend more than $200 on the ARF, so far I have sound the Seagull .60 Edge and the Aeroworks .46-.60 Edge. Are there any others out there that Im missing. Im also looking to put a Saito 1.00 or 1.25 in which ever one I decide on. I just want something that looks good and has little to no coupling, 3D capable, and good build quality.

I have a seagull edge with the Saito 125 and it flies very well. For the price its hard to beat, plus the replacement parts are inexpensive. If you look at the Horizon website you will see that all Hangar 9 planes have gone way up in price as well as the Saitos. I hope that they keep the price on the Seagulls where they are. I also have the Seagull yak 90 and prefer the Edge over the Yak. Hope that helps. Lou

I have been reading some threads on the Seagull Edge, did yours come with right thrust or did you have to shim the engine mount? Also have you tried any 3D with it? How are high alpha manuevers or wing rocking?

I am a sports flyer so I am not a 3d pilot. I did not have to add any thust angle. A member at our club has the same plane also with a 125 Saito and he is a 3d guy. I have seen him fly the plane and do some umbelievable things with it. Hope that helps.

Sure does, Im leaning very hard towards the Seagull Edge but Im just trying to find out as much info as I can before I click the submit button on my order. I was thinking about a profile but this past weekend there was a guy with a Yak that had about a 70" wing span and it flew really nice. So I kind of want a bigger plane for my next one and the Seagull Edge is looking really good for the price right now.

There is no comparison between the Aeroworks Edge and the Seagull Edge. The Aeroworks is far, far superior in every way. Spend the few extra bucks and get one.

Have you flown both versions?

I agree with Robotech get the aeroworks. I have flown both planes and I prefer the aeroworks. It is more stable and more predictable.

Im going with the Seaull Edge, I just got the Saito 1.25 ordered. I've heard alot of good reviews for the Seagull so I think I'll be happy with it. It will be my first scale plane and also my first .60 size plane. So far I've had a Hobbico Superstar, Sig Four Star, Pacific Knockabout(Cherokee type plane), and a Hangar 9 Twist. So I think I'll be able to enjoy the Seagull Edge.

Beach, there's a pretty big thread about the Seagull Edge - you should check it out. People are very happy with it, and I think you'll be happy with either plane. I've had some planes from the same manufacturer and the quality is nice. On the heavy side, but very solid.

I've had my eye on that knockabout cherokee ever since I saw it for the first time - nice looking plane. I wish I wasn't so spoiled with bigger planes. Ok that's a lie I like the big planes

Looks like the 125 is the way to go, too. Nice choice.
