QQ 86" or Hangar 9 89" Yak?
I am looking to replace my 85" Yak. My two main choices I've narrowed it down to is the 86"QQ Yak and the Hangar 9 Carden Yak.
QQ Yak is on sale for the next three weeks. I can also get a good deal on the H9C Yak. I'm torn.
If you were to choose what would you do and why?
Replacement parts prices are important to me.
Thanks,
Jerry

Run the Quique Yak. No problems with fit and finish. The best flier out of the box. Better price. Lighter weight. How can this be a comparison?

I was thinking about the H 9 Yak because I can buy it locally and save on shipping. But then I will have to pay tax. My 85" Yak flew really nice. There is a lot of flying footage of the 86" out there and it looks like a great airplane. It looks like the 86" shipped is cheaper than the 89" with tax. I just compared the prices of replacement parts. Big difference there.
I guess it really is a no-brainer.
QQ 86" is $499 until Dec.15.
Airwild is also having a $499 sale.

Check out the QQ support forum - not great at giving directions, but it's in the airplane forum under Giant Scale, maybe Giant scale 3D.
QQ and his team stand behind everything they sell. The service is great, products are great, and you're buying a plane from a guy who is a world champion rc pilot and personally designs, flies, and tests his products. You really should read lots of stuff in there, and hear people talk about how much they love QQ and his planes.
I have a version of QQ's plane (69") and it's one of the nicest looking planes and designs I've seen yet.
QQ's plane comes with wing bags, too. That's like $75-$100 worth of extra goodies

I know this is off subject but that stuff is criminal and downright wrong in my opinion. I've walked the floor at a major tradeshow and seen an exact copy of one of our products from an unethical "copy cat" manufacturer is China. They did no R & D, no marketing, nothing and they were selling it for less. Our people's hard work was flat out stolen and used for someone else profit. It took a lot of work from attorneys but the copy cat company was finally stopped from selling the product in its existing form in the US.

I don't know if you can call it criminal unless the Hangar 9 manual actually has a footnote on it somewhere claiming that it is copyrighted by them. They are probably using the manual provided by the manufacturer if it is not. The same manual I have seen on more than one occasion. They may both be getting the same manual from the supplier.
Anyways I just wanted to update this. I made my purchase in early December. I got one of the remaining few SD/TOC Extreme Yaks left on the market. This is the last few with this scheme. It looks good.

I guess it's irrelevant now but I'd like to share that I've had some limited experience with QQaircraft, and their service cannot be beat. Because of my situation and the plane I own I opted not to take advantage of some of their service - they obviously go very far out of their way for their customers and do whatever they can. (I think they sell replacement hardware at or below wholesale - obviously NOT to profit, but to support their customers. I chose not to buy some stuff from them). One of the classiest businesses I've ever encountered. I will be buying a QQ plane sometime in the future.

Again, not that it matters to you now, but I understand that the H9 Yak was having some problems with wing failure due to the wing tube being to short. Other than that, it is a very nice plane and looks awesome. Hopefully, if those problems do in fact exist, they will get them fixed and have an outstanding product.
Good luck and have fun with the Yak that you bought!

Have you looked at the Aero-works Yak. They are very light and have a very good reputation. Just thought I would throw that in to make your decision a little harder.
