I have a giles 202 and an extra 330l (basically the same planes) both being powered by a ttpro .46...What servos should i use? When i do research, everyone always uses a higher torque servo for the throttle. Is that true? and why? it needs 5 servos by the way..

I don't know why someone would tell you to use a high torque servo for the throttle. A standard works fine. For the control surfaces a good all around digital servo is the JR DS821.
You can use it with Futaba equipment. Here's the specs: Torque:72 oz/in @ 4.8v, 88 oz/in @6v. They can be found on fleabay for bargin prices, or go here if you want new ones:

Be advised though, digital servos draw more current from your flight pack.

To answer your question about 5 servos. The wing is using 2 servos. Then you have one on the elevator and rudder and throttle. These planes are .46 size any sport servo will work like the JR sport BB .$12.99 ea. Dennis

Those are both very aerobatic and 3D capable planes. I would use the DS821 servos mentioned above. They are high torque and digital, so they have better holding power and are more precise. There are ads for much less than retail in the classified section. I have a Venus 40 powered by a OS 46, and the digitals are SO much nicer on that plane.

I have the Giles 202 50 sized from Nitroplanes. I am using the $10.00 servos from Hobby people. Th GS-601 [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/440601.asp]spec's[/link] They have been really good so far.

821's aren't appropriate for a lot of helicopters and larger planes, but they ship with DX7's and 9303's so there's loads of people selling them in the classified forums for cheap, 60 bucks for a 4 pack is about average.
