Here is the info on my Taylorcraft float set up. Thanks to Charley for the basic info that got me started on this build. Plane is running a park 480 motor, 40 amp esc and an APC 11x7 prop. The floats are 24 inch foam core that have been lightly painted to seal them. The LG is just another stock gear that is mounted in the rear. The float mounts are dubro nose gear mounts. The floats are connected with aero tubing. The rear mount is spaced out from the airframe with .750 long nylon spacers. This gives you approximately 2 degrees of incidence at the float. The dimension from the front of the floats to the center of the front mounts is 10.5 inches. I removed the covering to reinforce the airframe for the rear mount, then recovered it. The water rudder is home baked and is actuated via sullivan cable. The rudder tiller arm is a dubro nose gear steering arm. Here are some pics, more to follow...
