Saito .72 on a Ultra Stick

I have a Saito 72 on my Ultra Stick 40. Performance has been good, but the vertical is not great. I have tried several props, but I am currently using a APC 13x7. My best performance seemed to be 12x6 Master Airscrew, but I was concerned that it was not enough of a prop.
I would appreciate hearing about props others may have had luck with on the Saito 72. Also, do you use 15% nitro?
Thanks!
Earl

I've only tried 13x6 props on mine. The Master Airscrew ones actually seemed to perform better than the APC ones for low-speed flight :stupid: - this is probably due to their wider blades.
Mine is down due to a botched deadstick landing (very windy that day). It will return - that plane is too much fun!

I have been flying mine for about 6 months with a saito 72 and although its not unlimited mine will climb straight up with a 13x6 Master Airscrew prop. How old is your engine, my 72 didn't start really running good till after about 2 months. It seems to take a while to break these engines in and start really performing.

I get the message.
Actually I tried the APC 14x4 3D prop and liked it, but cut the t hrottle and it fell like a rock. I will pick up a 13x4 and give it a shot. Thanks!

I have a Saito .65 on mine and use an APC 12x6. Lots of authority, pulls vertical, it will hover but I'm not that good at it yet. Nice low speed pull. I tried a 13x6 APC and felt the plane was slower and would tend to sink more at low rpms than the 12x6. Been flying with the 12x6 since last summer.

I started assembling my replacement US .40 last night. Wings are together and mounted; stabs are glued in place. It will fly this weekend, no doubt.

Morning,
The APC 13X4 W... W for wide is from the "NEW" line of APC props that address the 3D style of flying that is so prevalent today.
On the Saito 72, given the clearence issues on some planes, like the Somethin' Extra a 13' is too long. Not a problem for the US, though.
