Default Cub ARFs'

Has anyone built both a H9 and a Great Planes 40 size ARF cub? I'm looking to buy a new Cub 46 size and can't decide which one would be the best.

The H-9 has a 2-piece wing and a lot more scale detail.

The GP is $20 less.

The both have too much wing for my liking - I like Clipped-Wing cubs only.

I've Had BOTH H9 and GP. H9 beats the scale look hands down and is a little lighter than the GP. The H9 is a faster and better build, and the quality is very good.

Thanks guys. I was leaning to the H9. I'll go with that. MinnFlyer your link is great. Could I use some of it on the new web page I'm putting together for our new club?

I have the GP fabric covered Cub. It is a very well made ARF. I was told Kyosho made it for GP. The thing I don't like on it is the wire landing gear with the plywood covers. It does flies perfect with the barn door ailerons. I have seen the H9 at my LHS and it does look to have more scale anemities but I hate the plastic covering on a cub. The fabric is so much better. Mine will be going on floats over the winter for strickly water flying. Just have to glass then paint my floats.

Why do you say that? This is one of Hanger 9's best seller... It has no plans of discontinuing this pruduct.

By Golly they are still listing it. I said that because another flyer in my club need to have his replaced due to a quality failure and Horizon told him they couldn't because they were discontinued. Maybe they ment temporaily? out of stock? Anyway Horizon gave him the next size larger as a replacement. It was the PNP not just the ARF so maybe that was the difference. If, so my mistake!!. Sorry.

The horizon web site gets more difficult to negotiate every day

It is often hard to find things
