Nice!!! A baby Bellanca. HaHa What really got me interested in the EZ Decathlon is the GP GS Citabria that I'm waiting for. Should be released in another month I hope. The release date keeps getting pushed out. With all the kits I have in storage for rainy day builds, I better start building an ark also! LOL

Hi All:
I've just read most of the EZ ARF Models thread and found no mention of a Cessna 182. I just bought 2nd or perhaps 3rd hand a stripped down plane which I believe is a Global EZ Cessna 182. I have not seen the manufacturer Global mentioned in this thread, but think I'm in the right place. The plane has a 72" wingspan and a 56" long fuse. It displays the registration no. N1836M in white on red background on the rear portion of the fuse. If I could get a copy of the instruction manual, it would help me with CG placement and fixing the nose wheel/rudder controls which don't work. Any help here would be appreciated.

Global ARf's and the EZ line are two completely different companies. The EZ line has a balsa and ply crutch frame thats covered with a plastic laminated foam. If you tried to strip one down there wouldn't be enough structure to recover!
I did try to google Global and the only 182 i found was a 10' ws version... Maybe its a different brand?

When I said my plane was stripped, I meant that all the radio gear, motor mount, original LG, and wheel pants were missing. The covering is fine and you can feel the foam under the mylar.
I think you are right about Global being a different company. What confused me was finding a thread on RC Universe where the discussion was about a Global EZ Cessna 182 ARF. Here is a picture of the plane that I found in the thread. It is the same plane as mine as the covering and registration number are identical. In this thread, everyone was looking for the manual, some offers of help were made, but then the thread just petered out. The picture shows the plane I'm talking about.

I can't read the box (lower right) but does the EZ in the name mean simply EZ Build?
I have a prop jet made by Great Planes (Great Planes Patriot ARF .40) many years ago that is built exactly the same way the EZ planes were. Either they copied EZ for a bit or EZ simply made the plane for them.
Could be the same thing with your 182.

It is indeed a Global EZ Cessna. I had one many years ago. One of the magazines back then had a review of the kit. It called for a .45 2 cycle but I think a .60 would be a better choice as it was fairly heavy when ready to fly.

I always keep my eye out for used E/Z models of any type when I am at swap meets. If for no other reason than guys tend to sell them super cheap and a good parts source to keep the fleet going too.
I picked up a P-51B about a year ago and finally started digging into it about a month ago. The previous builder chose to go fixed gear but rather than just screwing in the fixed gear assembly he opted to epoxy it in for good measure as well. Quite the chore with a dremel and hours of being careful but I managed!
Airframe was in pretty good shape considering all the years with only some fading on the fuse but hey.....she's a flyer not a beauty queen.
Standard servos and original E/Z supra retracts just like back in the day. Since the cowl was already cut for some form of a side exhaust 2-stroke .60 I just put in my excellent running O.S. .61 and a custom battery pack mounted towards the rear and she's balanced perfect and weighs 7lbs 6oz minus fuel.
Hopefully test fly this week.

I still have an EZ Zero and P-51 in boxes that I purchased a few years back that I've not been able to build

You should do like I do......
Take the box over to your work bench
Remove everything and inventory it
Then crush the box and stuff it in the garbage bin
You'll get started on it then ;-)
