Hi all-
Just a short note and a couple of pix to report that the KMP P-38 Lightning ARF (RC-Flight P-38 here in Scandinavia) flies beautifully!
Easy to handle, performs aerobatics including inverted flight and spins and lands like a *****cat even without flaps!
We use two inverted 61FS and APC 12x6 which gives plenty power. Logged 14 flights - including two with one engine out during landing - no problems.

Finally !!!! I have been waiting (what seems for forever) to finally read a flight report on the plane yes! yes! yes!!
Can you give anymore details on your 14 flights?
Did you use the retracts during the flights? Did it make a noticable difference on the speed?
The anticipation has been almost painful (I preordered mine from ultimate-rc) and I have been drooling over this plane for weeks. My biggest worry was how she was going to fly. Man you just made my night!!!!

We haven't weighed it, but is reasonably light. On the test flights we did not inflate the retract system or fly with gear up, but this is imminent. Note: Nosewheel unit locking pin needs attention, be sure it locks in place - we had a few flights were the noseleg fell out and hung only by the wires. Stalled-out landings on grass prevented any damage. For strength, also use metal quicklinks between nosegear wires and steering servo.
I anticipate speed improvement with gear up and engine cowlings in place, but it does nice big loops etc. as is. Unlimited vertical is hardly a scale requirement for a P-38...
The engines we use are plenty for this model, would hardly recommend weighing it down with much heavier power plants. One could use YS63's if the extra cost is ok. Equivalent two strokes might also give a speed improvement, but would require IMO in-cowl mufflers to maintain scale looks.
Now we are installing a RAM machine gun sound module for those low strafing runs, plus we are producing aluminium guns/cannons for the nose. Functional oleo legs will also add to the P-38's appearance.

Richblin, Are you able to ship to the U.S.? How much would one cost shipped to Texas? Are you able to get them in any other colors besides the all grey and red/green???? Just curious..I went to your website and so I just had to ask...I know I'd be interested if it wasn't too costly...

We have only a few left. They are all in the silver finish. Our export price in USD is approx. 530,-. We can ship by DHL, UPS etc, but you would have to check the freight from Horten, Norway to your place. The box is 45" x 18", the weight ca. 100oz.
