ok guys
I need your imput
I want a nice, non nasty hellcat , as LIGHT as possible . I would fly it stock .
While i respect those who like fast heavy stressfull warbirds ,I dont share their interest (so please don'tpost to try to convince me , I don't care ) .
What is your winning combination ? wich engine did you choose ? radio gear ?
Minimum weight on this bird is advertised at 8.25 pounds ...are your planesas light as this ( or even better ?)
Please let me know
and thanks in advance for your 2 cents

H9 Hellcat, mostly stock. Magnum 91 2s engine, Futaba 2.4 radio system, 2300 mah 4 cell battery, 9.3 lbs, 110 flights since last June. Our field is at 3800' ASL. Has a petromat runway, so its a smooth surface.

Added ply behind the firewall and drilled new holes for engine mounting bolts so I could install the engine inverted with a pitts style muffler.

Ran 1/8" dowels through cowl mounting blocks.

Glued strips of flat carbon fiber along the bottom/back of each side of the horizontal stab. So far no flutter.

Needed 2 oz on the tail to balance.

Its a good flying plane. I don't push it, but I fly it quite often.

Good luck,

Evening Superocket, I've been flying the H9 Hellcat for about six months now with a Saito 100 for power and guided by JR 9303 2.4 rig.Flies great with this engine and balanced spot on with a 1500 MAH battery at rear of radio tray. I agree with Minnflyer, looks scale but flies like a sport plane. Don't know what the all up weight is but flies very light as outfitted.

I have one that I was flying with an OS .61 witha Pitts style muffler, but have upgraded the engine to a .91 2 stoke witha Pitts style muffler. Night and day in performance. The .61 flew it at a good scale speed, but I was flying close to full throttle. The ,91 gives me a little extra power to play with. Funny thing was, the CG did not change withteh new engine. Great flying plane. I have never weighed mine, but it feels light.

I've got a Saito 100 in my Hellcat. Not only does it fly great, it really looks super in the air and on the ground. It amazes me that with all the giant scale planes at our field, people always want to see this plane fly. This is a real keeper.

I've had one for 2 years now. GREAT flyer. Comes in at 9 lbs. with an OS .91FX 2 stroke, inverted with Pitts muffler. Built her pretty much stock, never had any flutter and she's FAST!
