Default battery

I don't know where else to post this so here it is. On a nicad 4.8v battery for my plane which I had to replace there are 3 wires on the battery red, yellow and black. The red and black are connected to one each lead on the battery, but I can't find where the yellow is connected. I must tell you that the plane crashed and the yellow wire may have been severed but I still can't locate where it would connect to on the battery! Can someone steer me in the right direction on this?
Thanks

The yellow wire isn't used. Only the red+ and black- are used.

The yellow wire, in this case not used, would serve as a signal wire in a different application; hence the 3 wires...red (positive), black (negative) and the 3rd wire to carry signals ("instructions").

Soft landings.
