Default Phoenix Extra 330 elevator servos?

Will futaba 3004 standard servos work ok on the dual elevator hookup?

And also, if you used a dual servo reverser for the elevator which make did you use?

So? how heavy is the Phoenix Extra 330?

When the model is described with a percentage, a couple of standards (one for each elevator half) probably aren't enough. In any case, the assembly manual should offer a suggestion.

A couple of standards should be ok for any that take less than a 1.50 glow.

Taken from a thread on RCU here about that model.
.................. Im running HS-5475HB standard digital servos on elevator and ailerons and a HS-5985MG on rudder.Ive put eight flights on her now and its an awesome combination,............

I have installed JR DS821 servos on each elevator and aileron. The ailerons use 2 channels through the JR Flaperon system. The elevators are also on seperate channels using elev. and aux2. A real PITA to set up but when you get it right the elevators are together perfectly from full down to full up. The only way I found to de-activate the "aux 2" switch is to use the travel adjust page and set the max travel to 0% up ad 0% down.My new Extra 330 weighs 7lb. 13oz. ready to fly with no fuel. Maiden flight will be next week or as soon as the weather gives us a break.

I used Futaba 3152 Hi Torq servos on ailerons and elevators, and 3004 on the rudder.

I've been gettiing the servos off eBay, just do a search. Tower has them for $24.95 ea. and I got the last ones 4 for $66.00.

My Phoenix Extra 330S weighs 7 3/4 lbs, with an ASP .90.

This model is a "60 size." Although everyone seems to be putting 120's on it. LOL I'm putting a YS 110 on mine. Ido most of my flying at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. I just hate long takeoff runs.

I tried to honor the "60 size" design and put a Saito 91 four stroke on it. MyAUW is 6 pounds 14 oz. I did some lightening: 4-40 control linkages, dubro pull-pull, and HS-225 servos for the elevator, and left the pants and fairings off. Flies light on those big wings. Knife edge was limited with a low pitch prop, now a 14-7 APChas it flying great. As for servo reversers, I have a Spektrum- and they don't like them, so I slaved CH5 to the elevator using mix #5 to the trims come across. The DS-821 servos from the Spektrum DX7 box seem more than adequate for the ailerons and rudder. I Rebuilt the tail so that the smaller servos were back to back to avoid linkage geometry errors. Flies great, although I haven't had a lot of calm days to precision trim the beast. Will climb out of hover, but I think you need the Saito 100 or 125 (same weight as my old 91) to POP out of hover like a foamie!

Either my OS 75AX is a bit small for this airplane or my engine is not developing power. This engine seemed like more than enough power for my Ultra Sport 60. That airplane weighed a pound more than this one. This airplane does not climb vertically with this engine and initial climb is a bit slugish. I did crash the Ultra Sport, but the engine seems OK. I am trying different props now. Started with a Graupner 13.5 X 8. That prop is quite bulky. Next was an APC 13 X 8. I will now try an APC 13 X 7. This engine makes a knocking noise, but it has done that since the very first run. I have heard other peoples OS 75AX engines, and they seem to make that same noise.
