I'm sure all you P-38 lovers will enjoy this. As seen in the twins forum, I have developed mods to enhance the scale appearance and operation of this great flying P-38 version. I've developed a retro kit for builders who have this model or are considering it, but don't care for its stock look and wing arrangement. It is a wonderful plane to fly and is much easier to transport, store, assemble at the field, and , oh yes, looks so much better as well with the mods. The changes are fairly extensive, and will take some prior building knowledge, but are very rewarding on this airframe. Here is what I have on the 'Nitro Planes 90" P-38 mod Kit'. You will receive these items.

-some instructions for the demo and gutting process
-bottom boom formers (1/8 balsa) including the ones for the main gear doors (light ply)
-main gear door templates
-new root and outer wing panel ribs (light ply) including the inner ones (aviation ply) for the wing bolts
-new aviation ply main and nose gear mounts
-new servo mounts (aviation ply) for the booms
-slide out air valve tray for the nose with servo mount (light ply)
-template for the nose gear door
-cross section full scale drawing of the new cowl shape
-template cross sections for the crew pod bottom
-templates for the wing cover frames
-some written instructions to help with the location of parts
-a bill of materials and hardware including the gear parts
-a CD with step by step pictures and some close ups of the finished plane that could be printed as needed. Many are in this thread, but I have others.
-my personal support throughout your upgrades

The CD is still being put together and may be shipped separately at first.

I have set the price at $79 and pay pal is fine with no penalties. I plan to put these together as they are ordered and would like a (1) week lead to ship. I'm ready to take orders and don't need any money till I'm ready to ship, at which time I can let the builder know a day or two in advance so as not to hold it up.

This plane is available again from NitroPlanes for $215, so maybe a few more can enjoy her now. IMO, these mods can easily turn this P-38 into one worth 4 or 5 times that, if not more.
