ORIGINAL: ChuckW

I imagine the price would be in line with their other giant scale stuff. The Revolver is a fairly simple airplane with no retracts, flaps or scale details. The .40 and .60 are actually priced pretty low for their level of quality and performance I think. Maybe $349-$499 for a giant scale version?

That $1800 Aeroworks Mustang is a work of art. It is uber-complete just like all their other stuff. The Pnematic retracts, tank, lines, electronic sequencer, sliding canopy, etc., etc. come pre-installed. There's $800 worth of stuff in it that you'd have to buy for most other Mustang ARF's.

Speaking of warbirds... If anyone is watchign this thread, it sure would be nice if Hobbico did the giant scale Top-flite P-47 in an almost ready to cover version and maybe sell a razorback conversion too.
ChuckW;

I just left their website and you are right, that is a work of art!!! A arf with that much scale!!! All I can say is "WOW"!!!

I agree with others that the two current Revolvers are well priced, considering the quality and appearance. Actually I think $220 for the 70 inch is a real bargain. I'd guess around $400 for an 84-88" version. Can't wait to see what color scheme and trim design they settle on.

83% positive so far. I'd like to see more to make sure GP is convinced that they'd sell. It costs a lot of money and time to develop something like this so the interest and actual purchases need to be there.

Seems to have slowed down a little. Surely there are some more people out there interested in having one of these...

ChuckW;

What I would like for someone from Great Plane to say that they are talking and or thinking about this. We can only ask and then we will have to wait and see.
I just pickup another Large Revolver and drop a OS 1.20SE FS in her. Hope to test fly her this weekend if the weather is good. I wish I could track the sale of the large revolver to see if G/P would make a move for the Giant one!!
HAve a great weekend!!

I can tell you that they are definitely aware of the thread and interested in the responses. As for what they may or may not be considering or developing, I wouldn't expect to hear a peep until they unveiled it at one of the shows or posted on their web site. I've spent some time in product development and manufacturing (non-RC) and I know first-hand some of the secrecy involved.

The best thing we can do as customers is to continue sending the message. Developing something like this is no simple process. It takes a lot of time, people and ultimately money to get something from an idea to a finished product complete with packaging, marketing, etc. The manufacturer will usually make the investment if they are confident that the market exists and they can make a profit.

I think a larger revolver could be a good idea as well. I would size it at 78" for the new generation of 30cc to 35cc gas engines ie. MT35 & DL30. For me to be interested it would have to retain its balsa sheeted foam core wing and I would like to see the fuse fully sheeted as well.

I agree on the wing construction. I am beginning to really like the sheeted foam cores used on some of the GP ARF's.

[>:]I have a feeling that Bax is sitting at his desk rubbing his hands together and smiling like the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland. I think everyone would agree that the new Hanger 9 larger Pulse has the attention ov a lot of modelers.WHY? because it is a larger model on a successful flying platform. Should Bax and his boys design a 50cc Revolver, He will leave Hanger 9 in his dust and smoke trail.The price? Well again Bax and his boys are not nieve enough to shoot themselves in the foot/feet. GP has an outstanding class of planes called the Performance Series. That is probably where a 50cc Revolver would fit in nicely. Ya know, Toledo has a reputation for unveiling new and surprising products from engines to planes.I don't know about you guys, but I am going to Toledo anyway. When I get there,I will be the first one in the door and the first one pounding on Bax's back door hoping to get a peek at what he brought. I'm hoping for a nice 50cc Revolver. If I should be disappointed, I won't be unhappy,as I know that in the near future, GP will make the 50cc Revolver.

I'd love to go to the Toledo show. Unfortunately I just have so much time off and too much scheduled this spring/summer. I'm going to try and plan on making it in 2011 though. Heck, I didn't even get to go to the AMA show this year and it was only 4 hours away.

If you do go and stop by the GP booth, be sure to casually mention how many people want a giant Revolver.

Jet - I just ordered a used YS 120 to put into my Rev 70 (thinking now that the YS 1.40 is too big for this plane). I saw your post on the other thread about how you balanced - nice ideas - I may copy you. Pls get some video this weekend, or at least write us and let us know how it goes. I am REALLY curious to find out.

Nice Micron..Though I'd like the YS 1.40 in the small revolver and the YS 170 DZCDI in the 70 sized... :-) The 1.20 should be real nice, though!

Heck, a YS 1.10 would turn the 70" Revolver into a monster. I can only imagine what the 1.20 or 1.40 will do. I like it.

51er - If you see how that flies please let us know! Also curious how much he reinforced the engine box \ firewall. And counter-balanced that larger engine.

Definitely needs to be a 50cc bird with a good strong landing gear to take the everyday bumps and bounces.
