OK, I'll be the first.

Stock all-white DP Super Cub Clipped Wing with OS 160 twin.

I put the orange sunbursts on along with striping tape.

100% stock, 15.5 pounds with onboard glow lighter.

To be flown in a week or so.

Beautiful Dick! I wonder if DPM will ever offer the wheel pants and wings so those of us with the full version can have an option? I asked awhile back about the pants and was told they could not be purchased seperately. I assume the cowl will fit the original version...I like it better than the one with the oil filter.

Nice job on everyone's Cub! All look great. I have the clipped wing version (Orange and White) and was wondering if anyone has experience with the YS 1.40 itself or on this model. I was thinking of purchasing the YS 1.40 but after reading everyones post it seems as if everyone is really happy with the OS 1.60 twin. Any thoughts? Thanks!

It's the sound. But the YS 1.40 would also sound Sweet[8D]

I have the OS 160 twin in mine. and it is the perfect match for this airplane, IMO. The engine fits nicely in the cowl. it has more than enough power, and it runs like a clock. And its true, the sound is fantastic. When the plane is on final with the engine ticking over, its as realistic as it gets. You can hear the engine mechanical clicking, prop noise, and the air whoosing over the wings and struts all separately. Its a great combo

Has anyone modified their SC to make it look like a bush plane? Maybe some extra large tundra tires and beefed up tailgear and tailwheel? I'd love to see some pics. If I ever gather up the scratch for one of these that's what I'd like to do to it.

Here's a pic or two of my Super Cub flying which I neglected to upload previously. It flies! Here we are flying at an old Gulf War vintage Apache pad in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Daniel, Wow, what a flying site you have. So, is the cub fairly easy to land smoothly on a hard surface without allot of bouncing? I always have prefered a grass runway for taildraggers for a smooth landing. I see your using the flaps. Are they fairly effective for landing?

Nice job, Mark

RE: Dave Patrick super cub

Good question, Mark. The Cub proved to be a little bouncy when I tried full-stall 3-pointers (I tested the gear pretty good:)). It definately flies like a Cub. Wheel landings are better and easier to pull off, especially if there is much wind to contend with. It also flies like a Cub in the air - lots of rudder required for turns, etc. Like they say, the Cub is very easy to fly, but very difficult to fly well.

OK, Dick, I have to ask.....will there be a review of your Clipted Wing Super Cub in an upcoming issue of RC Report? I'm looking forward to it, if so!

Oh, yes, most certainly. Probably in 2 to 3 months. I've been building a lot of planes and Gordon only puts one of mine in each issue

I have an Evoloution 26 in the full span Super Cub. Its a pefecct match IMHO and it's simple gas. I really have a ball with the airplane! Its nicely done, just put Dubro J-3 Cub wheels on it.

Mike,
Would you have any pictures of your engine installation? There are a lot of guys that wanted to go gas but a cowl intereference prevented it. This may be the engine for them.

Mike,
I am building a clipped wing version and I have the MVVS 26 gas for it. (Its the same evolution 26)
Did you install it inverted ? What exhaust did you use ?
Happy flying

I've had one person tell me that the Saito 150 will fit in the supercub and one tell me that it will not. Can someone let me know if it will fit without cutting the cowl?

Thanks

RE: Dave Patrick super cub

never mind after reading further I don't think it will fit. How about the saito 125 for the clipped wing version?
