GUY`s, something bothering me, Ive been understanding that the pull pull servo must be in the center both horz and longi, must not need to be cause this is not the case here on the super, and my hitec`s are to long to fit the servo board are any of you experancing this? pulled the tray to widen the opening and figuare while Iam there???????

Test flew last Friday in a 20 MPH breeze. First flight was OK, second was great (less wind)

DrPepper: Straight up? This is a Cub, good buddy. There was plenty of power, but not what I'd call unlimited vertical. No need for it.

Saturday I flew a half dozen flights, all a lot better (almost no wind) Flaps work great but you have to point the nose down otherwise it'll just hang there.

Very satisfied. You guys are gonna love your Super Cubs.

Made all test flights on 3/4 power or less.

I`VE GOT I HOPE A GOOD ONE, GO TO A NAPA STORE AND TAKE ONE OF THE OS 160 PIPES WITH YOU MATCH IT TO A METRIC BRAKE LINE SAME SIZE DIAMETER , USING OS FITTING CUT THE TUBING TO THE LENGTH YOU WANT , I BOUGHT 2 18 INCH PIPES, TUBING CUTTER OFF ONE END AND BEND TO SHAPE WITH TUBING BENDER SLIDE THE OS FITTING ON USING THE FLAIRED IN AS OS HAS AND VOLIA YOUR EXHAUST IS DONE, THINK THE SAITO 182 COULD BE DONE IN THE SAME MANNER!!!!!! ok who can solve this problem. I'm using a 150 Saito. The cowl is 6.5 inches from the firewall. Even using the mounting extension blocks I'm still short by an 1/8 or two. Washers behind the extensions? Thoughts?

How about some rectangular plywood strips the thickness you need behind the mount and epoxied to the firewall?

BRYLE, MAYBE MOVE THE COWL OUT AND SEE IF HOLES IN FUZE ARE STILL COVERED BY THE COWL, IF SO MARK THE NEW HOLE PLACEMENT AND MOVE THE BLIND NUTS TO NEW LOCATION???

I just happen to think that if someone expects us to shell out $600.00 for an ARF, the paint should at least match, thats all.

mr Pette, may I ask did you put any down or right thrust in? Iam also running a os 160. thanks for all of your in put, you are a valued contrubutor. cant wait for my issue of rc report, never been on the head end of assy of an aircraft, a little different this time. thank you .jim

Bud, ok Ive reenstalled the servo tray and ordered jr 4751? be here friday, the plane deserves good servos, just thought I`d save 160.00 so Ive taken the $ out of factoring. son said off cenered pull pull not a fact, he`s coming up this weekend for a piper athon and maybe post some pics. thanks jim

I set the engine square with the firewall. There may be some right or down or both built in.

Dave Patrick knows what he's doing. I never second-guess a good designer.

There is right thrust built in to the firewall and the cowl is molded for the offset angle of the spinner. There are lines scribed on the firewall that are very close to the center of the engine. I did as the instructions stated and placed the fuse upright on the tail and against my workbench. I then placed the motor (in the mount) on the firewall and mounted the cowl. I moved it around until I had the right position and marked the firewall. I pulled everything apart, drilled holes and mounted the motor. Here's how it came out.

One last question (hopefully). In terms of mufflers. I purchased the long extensions for the 160. Do I need to purchase mufflers to go on the end? I believe I would have to run muffler pressure correct? If so, what mufflers do I need or will fit? Will OS 91 or 120's fit? I received the plane and it's truely worth the money. Again, thank's for your help.

What type of paint are you guys with the white Cubs using? I know PPG auto paint works well, but it such a small area to paint for all the work of getting the paint gun out! The red looks great on the electric Cub! Thanks!
