RE: Sig Rascal 110
Once again. Thank you. :D Brian

RE: Sig Rascal 110
Brian,
That Rascal you picked up, was it just an air frame or compete? What engine are you running? |
RE: Sig Rascal 110
Hi Zip
It is the blue built airframe. "very nice" $200. I'm really happy about it. The cowl is cut very nicely for a G26 with a slimline muffler, and that is what I'll be putting back in it, when my new one shows from Ralph Cunningham. RE: Sig Rascal 110
I agree. I have had all the converted Zenoah engines from Ralph, except the twin. I have/had 5 G26s. He is just hard to contact/talk to at times. (like now) :D. Brian

I got my XOAR prop from Chief Aircraft and decals in from Bad Brad Graphics. Looks like Ralph C. is going through some rough times so I wont be getting my prop bolt and washer for my G26 and that means that my nice and shinny True-Turn spinner wont be going on either. I had to buy a 5/16" hard bolt at the store without the tapped hole in the center for my spinner bolt. Looks like a plastic spinner will have to do. Don't know what else to do.

RE: Sig Rascal 110
I guess I found the news you mentioned coming from Ralph. Sad indeed, but he does say he'll be around and he should send your parts and my motor. Brian
News about Ralph? I have heard nothing and I have been waiting quite a while for a motor. Hope he is not ill? Your ship looks good. RE: Sig Rascal 110
Brian,
I've been waiting on parts for my G26 and haven't seen anything yet. Ive called him twice, email, post. He is not responding and not shipping out goods that have been paid for. "It ain't lookin good? |
RE: Sig Rascal 110
Ther is an article in the gas forums about Ralph. Looks like he is having some probs. I hate that as I wanted to send him my g20
|
RE: Sig Rascal 110
Ralph has been a reliable old friend for years. he has done a great job in the past, but he needs to man up and fulfill his obligations. One complaining dummy should not end up messing it up for all of us. And that is in Ralph's hands. My 2 cents on that. Brian

I finished my Rascal today and got ready to fire it up and ran into a snag. Just a soon as I started to fill the tank the fuel was running out of the vent line [:@]. Looks like I may have the vent and fill line crossed. There's always another day. Not many good one's left for this year.

RE: Sig Rascal 110
is that cooper tires on the wheel pants got a blue too , cant get the 1.3 first place to run, go to half throttle and boggs down, and ideals? thanks frank
|
RE: Sig Rascal 110
The Cooper graphics were made by Bad Brad Graphic and can be made in any color you like. Was your First Place engine running alright before or are you having trouble tuning it?

RE: Sig Rascal 110
I know everyone is putting the g26 on this plane how do you think the g20 will fly this bird ? Almost got enough saved for the plane. It will be mine in a few weeks. I am also thinking smoke on this plane. I have seen planes of this type with smoke and it looks cool.

RE: Sig Rascal 110
have flow it several times but each time out it is a new adventure and twist hight and low needles,up and down lost on the engine, great power when it run but dont want to lose the aircarft, it is the best. love the way it flys , missed the best flying yesterday at the fun fly 0 wind and warm thanks frank

RE: Sig Rascal 110
lrglnman,
I saw one flown with a G23 and it seems to fly it fine. Not sure about the G20. It will defiantly fly the Rascal; it just depends on how you like to fly and what kind of power you like. Pittsman can anwser your question better than I can. He is running "Rascal Central" and has seen a lot of different engine on these Rascals. |

RE: Sig Rascal 110
captinjohn,
Not yet but there is another Rascal ower making me one out of stainless steel. Eric, The 3" spinner that the manual calls for looks to be on the small side. What size did you use. |
RE: Sig Rascal 110
I went with a G23 that I had on hand. It has Ralph's ignition on it. I got it ready to fly this eve and will fly it the 1st nice day. I did fire it up and it runs and idles sweet. Started on 2nd flip after a couple flips of choking. Hot Dog!! :D I'm not real happy with the way the 1st owner cut the cowl. I'll probably get another one once I see how it flys. Brian

RE: Sig Rascal 110
Zippi I have your prop bolts ready. I am sending 3. 2 are drilled 10/32 1/4 deep and 1 drilled 3/8 deep just in case the 1/4 in depth is not enough. I will try to get them out today when I go home for lunch.

RE: Sig Rascal 110
When I trial fitted my cowl it looked pretty close, but it is cut too big for my tastes. Any one try a cowl from Fiberglass Specilaties? I think they are heavier made than Sig's cowl.. Brian

RE: Sig Rascal 110
I have one on order from Sig. Maybe in 6 months or so it will be in.
