Plane looks good in the air. Who's the guy in the back prepping the 2 stroke? I hate it when I am doing a maiden, especially with a new engine and someone decides to rev her up behind me. I gotta hear my engine in the air, especially during a 1st flite. How would those retracts take to a grass field? what make are they?

Holy Crap...the video on youtube of the PC-21 with the turbo is unreal!!! Even cooler than a jet. With all the new small gas engines out now there has got to be one that is hot or can be made hot with some type of exhaust system to get a great sound to use on the KMP model.....I am saving up starting now......Wow WC

I have been following this thread for a while and cant wait till some one has completed the plane, you can use the exhaust system on this model but it takes some work, and maybe something that i will undertake when i get one myself. First of would be to get some converluted pipe easy to bend and simple to construct, you would need to get a Y bend to devide the exhaust gass and direct it to the current model exhaust's. The only thing that would have to be checked is that the pressure supplied by the exhuast is enough now that you have doubled the size. You could use the same method as the guy's that have the same exhuast system for the jets It can be done i am sure of that so what are your thoughts?

You've probably already checked, but is Tomas at VQ Warbirds out of them too? Brown's Hobbies in Orlando? Just a couple of suggestions.

Brown's hobby is the warehouse for KMp, they don't have any, Chief says on the web site they have some but they don't.

Hi Everyone:

My name is Dan and I was the pilot on the Pilatus for Serge.

My observations of the plane are that it needs only a few setup changes. Make sure that you use aileron differential in your wing setup as the plane when rolling has a bit of a hunt around the fuse. In other words it has a bit of a barrel roll effect without differential. Shim the engine to the right as the offset is needed to make the plane hold a straight loop. The balance point is straight forward, Serge did a great job with his build and balance work. When a small dive is induce the plane pulled out slowly proving that it has the correct CG.

I did not use the dual rate on the last flight in the elevator as it really needs a bit more throw to round out nicely. I have not induced any yawing input in flight so the use of the rudder has not been investigated to date. So far we have not stalled it either therefore we do not know if it has any low speed nasty habits hanging around the corner. Those flights will take place soon.

The plane is a really nice flyer, easy to see and has a very good presence in the air.
It is slippery however maybe some wheel brakes would be nice, as you can see in the video I had to sling the nose wheel back and forth after I had landed to scrub off the excess speed.

Hello....I too wonder about a gas engine. I just got a really nice 26cc that is inline and has a wrap around pitts, I think it would fit, but may be a little low on power. The engine for this plane really needs to have a great "turbo" like sound. There is a guy that has a custom made muffler that he sales on RCU classified, that he says makes a great sound. I hope to get one of the next batches delivered, and am trying to work on the right engine. Has anyone found a place to view or download the construction manual....Thanks WC

Could someone gave us the measurment from the firewall to the end of the cowl, the spinner size, and the wheel or tire size. thanks
