Now I am jealous. I need to hurry and build my 30 x 50 shop. I had a 30 x 40 at the home we owned before we sold it and bought our current home and it seemed a little cramped after awhile. I have a new IR 80 gallon compressor, blasting cabinet and an ungodly amount of air and body tools, welding machine, cutting torch and bunch of other stuff that are in storage because they will not fit in my shed :( I even sold my 31 model a sedan I was hotrodding when we moved because I did not have a place to keep it. That was the only time I felt bad about making $18,000.00. I would love to have another Springer Softail, but that is last on my list.

Not to rub it in, but you mean a springer like this one ? My niece is a modeling engineer for Harley ,so we have a few of them too .
I fell your pain , dont know whats worse , having all the tools in storage or selling the 31, ouch.

The Heritage is nice and the wide front tire rides smoother but I just cannot bring myself to like the wide front tire. Super nice though.

But the smart ones find a more agreeable climate to live and work and play in!:D I can say that because I grew up in Northeastern Indiana and spent 4 winters in Minot (Mind-rot), ND, while in the AF. I've lived North, South, East, and West in this great country, and I now live in Mobile, AL, and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what you guys are doing about a work bench , picked up these to cabinets for free and bought the solid core door from HomeDepot for $1.00 . Just thought I`d share it . lot of room to work on.

How did you find the cabinets for free? By the way, what kind of bike is the red one in your first set of pics? I have been looking for a bike for quite awhile now. I want an older (not too old) Honda Shadow, but anything that size would be nice.

My wife works in the trades and they had some slight damage on them.
The engine is a Suzuki 650 1981 , the frame is part Suzuki ands odds and ends out of the bone pile . started out as a Hardtail , but quickly changed it to a swing arm. Fatbob tanks off an old harley . It turns a lot of heads, and get many , { what tha heck is that comments} Heres afew more pics
The flame job , I used all House of Kolor candys on it and the paint looks about a foot deep and has taken Best of Show and Best of Paint a few times. Had about $500.00 in paint materials and maybe 500.00 other in parts. So you dont have to spend an arm and leg to ride .
Hows the Man cave coming , Snow slow you down ? looks like you`ve been getting hit as hard as we have.

I started riding when I was only seven also. Most of my riding has been off road in the desert areas of southern califonia, blasting down dry riverbeds, sand dunes, rocky hills, etc. I have had some pretty spectacular crashes over the years and balled up my bikes good a few times.

not only the weather, but with semester finals this week, i have been swamped with homework. Dad is swamped at work also, so we have the weekends to work on it. Its slow going. I will be sure to post pics when more is completed. What type of bike would you recommend for a first bike? I am 6' 3, almost 6' 4...i dont know if that matters, but yea. Budget in mind also.

well, you an inch taller than I am . When I ride the custom Suzuki , I look like Grape Ape on a BMX bicycle and it beats me to death. My Nomad would fit you very well but it depends on how and what style, you want to ride . Go to a few cycle shops and sit on a few , see which one feels right to you.
thems some nice toyz lill will, love to have that Suzuki , I bet it`s got tthe 200+ mph chip in it. I have a 64 Vespa I`ll trade ya for it lol.

flaminheli: my dog thinks he's a lap dog as well. Boy does it hurt for him to crawl up on me just thinking that he's little. Oh that kills me! My dog's insane as well. He can bite a tennis ball flat first try. He's saved my life more than once. In his younger days he took down a prize bull that was charging our truck. Boy was I glad he came out on top that time, unfortunately he broke the bulls hips and the bull had to be put down. I'll have to upload a pic of my dog and man-cave. He's not allowed inside, but he stays as close as he can to me. He'll sit in the garage or just outside of the nearest window. He's really crazy!

About your Raptor 700, I've got to say that Raptors and Banshees are QUICK. Back in my Motocross days, I got well acquainted with the national quad champ of Honduras (I lived in El Salvador at the time). He had a couple different Raptors (250, 350, 660, and 700 I believe). The Raptor 700 was rediculous at bottom-end and top-end...but I've gotta say I loved slinging the 350 around the track. It was nimble enough to keep it hammered through the tight corners, and light enough to shift my weight and keep it stable. It also jumped better than the 700. I felt like with the 700 I had to slow down too early into corners to keep up momentum. I also couldn't throw my weight enough to keep the wheels down. It was SOO much fun to slip the clutch, yam the throttle and disappear behind a HUGE cloud of dirt! There was one high-bermed corner that had WAY too much dirt higher up the berm (it was ridiculously soft and sandy) that I loved to drift around. I'd have this incredibly huge plume of dirt behind me. Boy how I miss that sport!

Regardless man, WEAR A HELMET!! It saved my life more than once!

Are you going to run 2x6's on the top, flat on top of the 2x4's? If you are building a lofted roof (barn style) then that is the best way to do it. It will give you a couple of inches of overhang on the sidwalls. A little advise, make sure you place the wall studs 16" on center. I have seen so many people place the wall studs 2' on center which causes the siding to be wavy because it does not have the support it needs. It will make for alot sturdier structure. What kind of siding are you going to use, T-111?

Here's my Man Cave. I have the entire basement. I told my wife it's going to be doilly and tassle free. It's work in progress but I'll have my office, home theater, shop clean room, and wood shop.
