Has anybody flown the sukhoi yet? Thinking about getting one.
I have the Sukhoi with a Magnum 91 4-stroke in it and the Sukhoi flies great, It's like it's on rails but you need to keep the speed up a little on landings or it will drop a wing. I laterally ballenced it before flying so it's not bad at all but does need to keep the speed up. It's my most flown plane.

IronCross, I started with a 15x4 to get good climb and it worked great as a break to slow it down for landing until I got used to it and now I've been using a 14x6 and still has good vert.

WOW
Doorbell rang and I found this big box on my front step.. My new 66 inch Extra was here.. What a beauty... I have been flying the 58 inch Extra and having a blast with it.. It has become my main plane.. Looks like the 66 inch Extra may replace it though.. Can't get over these great flying planes at these prices.. And fantastic customer service to go with the deal... I don't think CW ever sleeps..

I will be putting in a saito 100 on my VF sukhoi, should be plenty of power.

This thread is long and sorry if it's already been answered. I have an OS 61 FX and seriously looking to buy the 58". Wondering if I use this engine, will be under powered? If so, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

I love my VF 66" Extra. But anyone find that if they fly to slow the extra tip stalls and wants to nose over??? Slow speed is ok at stright and level but dont use the ailerons. All throws are to instructions.

RE: VectorFlight 300s, anygood?

My extra never had a problem with tip stall at any speed, How is yours balanced? Mine flew like a fast trainer.

Miloh.

RE: VectorFlight 300s, anygood?

If it always tip stalls in the same direction it might be laterally out of balance.

Try checking that.

Good luck!

Matt 22,

I have an OS 60 FP on my 58" Extra and it is no way under powered. So your 60 FX should be just fine.

RE: VectorFlight 300s, anygood?

Scott, Thanks for the info. Just received it yesterday and I have say I'm impressed. It's certainly one of the better constructed ARFs I've seen. Instructions are weak....and would be hard for a first/second timer. Looking forward to getting this bird up.

Thanks,
Matt

How does the VF 58" Extra 300 perform with the Saito FA 80? Been looking for a long time for an A/C to mount the 80 on. Worried it might be a bit underpowered. I'd appreciate your opinion. Thanks!

A Magnum .80 hauled mine around just fine. Not underpowered at all. Your Saito probably has as much or more power, but you may need another ounce or two in the nose.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson

Matt 22,
I was looking at the same set up as you. Could you please keep me posted on how it works for you?

RE: VectorFlight 300s, anygood?

Im thinking of ordering me the VF Extra here real soon and am just curious if anyone that has had both the 58" version and the 66" version can tell me if they both handle about the same, or does the 66" version handle much better due to its larger size?

Bigger is Better......I love flying mine.

RE: VectorFlight 300s, anygood?

I have both of them.. Started with the 58 inch and like it so well I purchased the 66 inch one.. They both fly great.. If I had to pick one to be best it would probably be the 66 inch one... There is something to "bigger flys better".

Hey

How are you guys doing. DIABLOKID. How does your VF 300 fly with the Saito 91. I have a Saito 91 and i was thinking about using it on the 58" version. Also does anyone know if this plane use a pull-pull rudder setup or how is it setup.

Thanks Scott

My next plane will be the VF 66 Extra-300. Do you think the OS.91FX will perform well in it ?

I fly mine with the OS.91FX and it is a real mover. With the changes OS has made to that engine it is very relieable now. The 14x6 APC prop is quiet but I love the sound you get from the Master Airscrew 14x6 and Bisson Pitts muffler. The plane sounds like a 1/4 scale gasser as it flys buy with that combo. Heads turn at the field. Let me know what you think.

Anyone flying this bird (66") with a OS 120 Four banger?

MR G 07-22-2005 08:19 PM

RE: VectorFlight 300s, anygood?

I am flying the 66" with an OS 1.20 (pumped engine). Great combination!! lands a bit fast but the plane has plenty of vertical climb(need right rudder in upline) and responds well in manuevers. Had to work on aielerons throws a little to get the rolls axial, but it was worth the effort. It is one of my favorite airplanes now.
