Default Problems! Help me Red!

I'm having a problem with my electric setup. I'm flying a Zagi with a stock speed control, battery (8c 1700mAh, NiCd), and stock motor. My batteries only cycle to about 1500, and sometimes only 500. I'm charging at .2A and discharging at the same rate (during cycling). The charger also commonly false peaks NiMHs too. I'm using a Triton too. Any tips, or things I could be doing wrong? I feel like I damaged these packs somehow, but that doesn't seem likely as everything is stock and I'm always slow charging.

Another thing, I cycled my Tx pack (600mAh 8c NiCd) and it charged right up to 625mAh. That would seem to indicate that the charger is ok.

I should also mention that my shop supply actually can only deliver 1amp. Is this a problem? I'm always charging at .2A, so I guess in theory it should be okay. (?)

Thanks!

Reid

I can't give you the "whys" (maybe Red can elaborate) but I noticed early and false peaks when slow charging with the Triton on several occasions, especially with new packs. Try charging at a higher rate like .8 amps you will probably notice the pack gets more of a charge. If the packs get hot at the low rates maybe you have a bad cell(s). I do remember reading something about a minimum rate for your supply to the triton (7 amps??)....may not effect it in theory...if your charging under 1 amp, but it may have to do with the proper functioning of the charger.
