First you will need to find the dimensions of the battery compartment/tray, and the battery itself. Go and download the manual for your vehicle; sometimes you will find the maximum dimensions for the battery.

thanx for the reply. i havent bought the car yet. i found a pic of the battery they use in the car on amazon and is nothing like the dimensions of the battery i posted. so im guessing it wouldnt fit, but as long as the battery fits it will work and not harm the car?
edit: im also thinking of going with the traxxas rustler instead. It has good reviews and seems like it would be a good beginner car.

Do yourself a favor and buy something better made and with parts that are easily obtained.
Look at this one,it's labeled 1/10 but it's more like 1/12 scale . A little more money but it's better made and you can get parts easily.
