Default For those with Triton charger???

Have you nticed when charging a battery that the voltage every around 30sec it drops on the screen and then goes high again and continues charging?
I have the 3150 unit and everytime i charge a battery it will "pause" for 3-4sec every 30sec and then it continues again.
If i charge 1 cell 1.2V it will show 1.4-1.6Volts when charging and then pause every 30-40 sec dropping the volts to ~1.3 and after 3-4sec it will start again at 1.4-1.6V.

Is this a problem or it's designed to do so?

It also shows much higher voltage than my 969.
I was charging a single cell 1.2V 1800mah last night and voltage went right up to 1.8V without the battery warming up.
This is normail too.My 969 went at max 1.5-1.6 for a single cell.

Unless you actually put an in line amp meter on, as I have, chances are the triton is putting out more juice than your 969 was. My two Triton's charge at 120% of the value selected, so if I choose .1amp I get .120, .2 is .240, etc, on up to max. Also I have a sizeable varience between voltage measurement on the two, so ultimately I have learned what they read compared to what the voltage actually is, and live with it.

You didn't state what current you were charging the single cell at.

I posted a while back about charging a single cell with the Tritons, I have two. I don't believe they are the best at it, but they do OK.
I find that with a single cell, large capacity, like my 3600 sanyo's, that if they are down, then I can charge them at 1 amp until it kicks off, then drop it to .1 amp and let it finish the battery off.

I recently bought the Hobbico MKII fast field charger and found that it handles single cells with authority. Charging them right up to full capacity at any resonable current setting applicable for the cell.
