Lipo problem
I have a 2 cell lipo. I used & charged it about 6 times. I charged it up & did not use it for about 12 months. It was not connected to anything.
I went to charge it up again & the lipo charger refused to charge it.
I connected it to my Chameleon charger & it showed 3.9volts & slowly recovered at a charge rate of 200ma.
Any idea why it discharged so much?
Do they require charging every few weeks to keep them alive?
Do you think it will be ok to use?
Regards

RE: Lipo problem
Lots of things it could be. LiPO have very slow discharge rate but it is recommend to store at 3.85V or about 30% capacity for long term. Just go slow.. 50% C charge then discharge at 1C and test capacity. Monitor the first time if getting warm at all I would stop at trash it. Check balance the cells must have the same voltage if you can not balance then a cell has gone bad.
