Default What should I do right off the bat to brand new IB1400 8Cell pack?

Just got an IB1400 8-Cell pack for my Mini Inferno from Cheapbatterypacks.com, along with the cheapy $20 charger. What should I do with it right away, and do you guys have any tips for general Ni-Mh care? Thanks!

Miles

I'd start out by chargeing it at 140 ma for 15 hrs (if it's dead and brand new)

All NiXX cells need to be slow charged at 1C (in your case 1.4 amps or as close as you can get) then cycled (discharged and charged) two or three times.

Sorry but NO !
First 1C is fast charge, not wise on new battery thats been setting around.
Second slow is 1/10 of C as U dud said DO a few cycles of 140 mA "aka 0.14 A" for 14 to 16 hrs charge then discharge to 0.9V run down. After 3 or more cycles you can move up to fast 1C if you want but you must have a good Peak Detection charger.
After xxx or 20 cycles of fast charging reform by repeating the above number two.
