Buiding a battery pack
Since my battery pack is dead I decidedto build a battery pack. I want to use 4 NiMH1800 MaH with a house as shown in the picture.
is that Ok?
Why a lot of manufactures use NiCd batteries and not NiMH

RE: Buiding a battery pack
You might not want to use the battery case shown in the picture. The contact points are not very reliable. They are prone to vibration problems, corrosion, wire fatigue at the solder joint, and are heavy and bulky.
I think you will find it much easier and much safer to just purchase a preassembled battery pack from a reliable vendor. Most of the time you can buy any type (nimh, nicd, lipo, etc) and capacity cells in a pack with the appropriate connector. If you are not experienced in soldering battery cells and have the proper tools, it can be trying. You can also damage the cells if too much heat is applied for too long, yet you need good flow for correct joints. Preassembled packs have the shrink wrap installed and sometimes come with stress relief incorporated.. You can add your own connector if needed, which is easy to do.
Also, normally, preassembled packs are warranted by the vendor. If you build your own packs, there is normally no warranty.
Good Luck.
