Default Best Charger ??

i have a triton now and i'm really not impressed with it. it takes so much scewing around just to form and cycle packs it's not funny ! is there any charger that will do my ni-cads and ni-mh batteries with out having to go though all this ? i'm dumping the triton and getting something better. i still would like to keep the LED display to monitor what's going on .

Putting a batt into memory should save a lot of messing around. There are many "peak" chargers that are a lot of good for forming and the Triton is no exception. You can probably get a simpler charger like the Triton JR that is scaled down in features.

I'd suggest to continue using it and read manual a couple of times. When this Triton first came out it was very unfriendly, but many experts out there now wouldn't trade it for anything.

I guess it is just not very intuitive and the confusing original manual is also un-friendly. The Triton2 manual is half the number of pages.

I really like it and is one of my favs (with a different power supply) The worst part of the elite is it's power supply limit and then the next worst thing is the limit of the chargers at 2 amps and 10 cells. It is not as extensive as the triton, but the dual feature works well for dual packs. The quality is good.

I really like my Ultra Duo Plus 30 by Graupner. It can charge any battery you throw at it, but it is more confusing to use than the Triton. Both are great chargers and a great charger is going to take some reading of the manual. I think Ultra Duo does a better job at charging. I keep a charge history on a spread sheet, and the Ultra Duo is faster and more consistent.

i just bought a Elite U-udu and i really like it with only one disappointmant in that you can't just hook up a battery to it and select auto and charge . you have to input the specs of the battery being charged
