hi guys
ok i want to get more speed out of my boat she a big one , i need more speed so i need to cut weight and going to go with smaller props i would like to know if this will work in place of the two gel cells at 12 volts 7 amp each the esc are two of them and will take 24 volts each and 80 amp con
from modelcontrol two of theses for each esc and motor and the hook ups ,that should give me 14.4 volts and 10 amps ? that would be series right? thanks rye

With the new setup, you would be losing in voltage and current. The 2 7.2V/5000mA batteries in series would give you 14.4V but only 5000mA current. In series current is common and voltage is additive. If you put them in parallel the voltage is common and the current is additivel

You also need to compare burst current or C rating.
What is the C rating on the gel cells?

if you want to lighten up and get more punch get 2 6s 5000mah lipo packs and run them in parrallel, they are at 22.2v each, and you'll have 10ah total current draw ability. probably half the weight, and will work with your current esc setup. just make sure to get a little low voltage alarm as im sure your esc doesn't have a cutoff.
